cleavagesweat Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Just wondering if anyone uses any mods to rebuild the castle's walls. I saw some on nex but after reading the posts I'm skerred to use them. like uninstalling the mod will delete all the walls LOL. what you y'all use? i'm just about to not use any and just build make-shift patchups but if there is a mod that rebuilds all the walls without being unstable then i'd sure like to look into it.
EdinMG Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I use the Castle Rebuilt mod, very good and works perfectly fine with the MM quests, it's not available on Nexus anymore but I can send you the file if you want.

AWP3RATOR Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I use Craftable Castle Walls Patches Redux - as above, works well with the Minutemen quests and seems to cause no other conflicts.
guk Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I always try to build as wasteland-ish as possible, so here is what i've been doing in my last playthrough To get the parts fit perfectly on the walls, i've developed this procedure (which also works everywhere else, it's just much more complicated here) 1) enable "extra selection" from Place Everywhere (Insert) 2) select the castle walls and use the "store data" function (i think it's the + key in my game) 3) disable "extra selection" 4) build the first piece anywhere you want, example the junk fence doorway here 5) use "transfer data" on the doorway - it will now be somewhere in the courtyard, so go find it and lock its selection with F7 6) select the castle walls in the console, and type "getangle z" (or use this batch file with "bat gp" GP.txt) 7) use TCL and fly somewhere outside the walls looking into the courtyard, like in the pic above 8 ) use "player.setangle z" with the value you determined before (if you don't face the courtyard, adjust this in steps of 90°) 9) set the move increments to the largest step, and move the piece closer to you - it now should rest exactly on the curb like in the pics above 10) some further back/forward movement is required until it rests horizontally on the wall Then just connect the other parts, everything snapped on will be exactly on the grid of the castle walls. If you have to do further adjustments make sure to always use the player.setangle command. I also highly recommend to change the movement steps to these values, because these are the actual dimensions the world is built of moveSteps = 0.1 0.5 1 8 32 128 256
