Applying hair color to another mesh

I'm wondering if it's possible to use the hair color sliders in the racemenu to colorize a different mesh attached to the character (other than the hair)?

I don't seem to find any information on the subject.

Theoretically, an OBSE command exists to acquire the R/B/Y ratios for X Actor's Hair, which could be stored as floats, and then be applied using to another mesh like a beard with the appropriate VertexColors using NifSE...but no one's done it yet, so it must be a lot of work.
