cleavagesweat Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 is this mod patch something that is considered as a soft requirement?

No u don't need the unofficial patch for basically anything. The patch only handles vanilla assets in an attempt to fix problems Bethesda didn't. The unofficial patch is not a requirement for any mod. (As far as I know)

(As far as I know) gotcha. so i'm just curious if the majority of people actually use it. I know that its getting some shade on the skyrim section below as actually messing up more stuff than it fixes. if a new person was setting up a new pc would you recommend they use this mod?
dibz666 Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Yes, If u plan to play the game legit without any mods the unofficial patch should smoothen ur experience. But also No, If u want to play Fallout4 with mods I don't recommend the patch because it can (most likely won't) break mods. The conflict comes from asset dependencies, If u get a mod that relies on vanilla assets which get altered by the patch said mod will crash ur game. Because the mod in question would refer an asset that the game will then tell the mod doesn't exist because the patch change it somehow. The unofficial patch shouldn't conflict with most mods & some mods it will strait up break. Use it at ur own risk.
