The sun is bad, but fireballs, on the other hand...

 

 

 

It's like I'm on the surface of the sun itself! Also, I didn't actually do anything to the brightness of these images or the game itself; these are on the default settings I got when I fired up the game for the first time.

 

I wonder what insanely dark TV they made this for before porting it to the PC.

Wow, that's nasty. However I didn't have this issue when I played X-Blades on the PC. Soooo... maybe it is a bug caused by your drivers or smth.
