If you've played hearthfire like me, then you've noticed all the random homeless children this DLC put into the game. It's so heart breaking that you can only adopt 2!

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to make a mod that lets you adopt even more? I'd like an unlimited amount, but whatever the biggest number possible would be great. They should have at least let you find a home for them T_T. I plan on getting the girl in whiterun and the one twin girl who has an abusive father in Roriksted or however it's spelled (she's in the vanilla game). But theres homeless boys and girls all over skyrim now . Those orphans are probably better off with the mean lady dead

It's most likely is possible but it would most likely mean digging around in the quest code. I'll take a look at it all tomorrow. Right now the CK does not want to open Hearthfire without the it crashing when loading the ESM.

Should be but at the moment the CK can't even open it. Keeps giving me a error message.

I loaded the ESM

 

validated the CK (downloaded 2 files, a non edited SkyrimEditor.ini and installscript.vdf)

 

Added bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 to the bottom of [General] in the SkyrimEditor.ini

I added HearthFires.bsa to the end of SResourceArchiveList2 in the [Archive] section of the ini

and copied the strings from the HeartFires.bsa over to Data\Strings

 

HeartFire has some new file types in it

so may not be able to add/fix much stuff

How do you copy the strings?

or you can use Fomm to unpack the BSA

Nope still not working even after copying the scripts into the scripts folder.

Ok I added those strings you gave me, that to overwrite the old ones.

 

Loaded it all up and now it seems to be working.

I'm supprised a mod to enhance adoption hasn't popped up on the nexus yet

There is Adopt a child by Praveen on the nexus. Multi adoption system. You can adopt three child at one time. Four new child at orphanage including vampire child and 1 orc child just for testing purpose.

Not sure so far I have adopted one from white run and one from the orphanage and the mod if it's not compatible can probably be made to be compatible with hearthfire.

I was just pointing it out and a person could either make a mod or make the adopt the child compatible there is a mod on the nexus that allows you to marry up to 50 people so if someone took that mod and went through it maybe they can find out how that one allows you to marry that many and implement it into a working adopt more children mod the good thing is that the mod doesn't try to stick all 50 wives into one house if it did you would never be able to enter the house again. There is also a marry anyone one so they might be able to make a adopt every child mod as well.

wrong even with the bedroom wing you can only have 2x child beds, the 2 others are regular beds

if build right you can have 3x dubble bed, 2x single bed, 2x child bed

You could buy the different houses in the holds and use the replace alchemy area for a childs area as I just bought the whiterun one a few days ago and it gave me the option to replace the one for the other.

i been looking into this in ck and it's kinda tied to your house and having a room set for kids (two beds) now there are multiple home that can house the little shits and I am not skilled enough or knowledgeable enough with the ck to figure out how to set it so you can adopt multiple kids with sending them to a house that has room which I think is how it would have have to be done

mod creator posted he is not continuing his mod because of hearthfire so if someone wanted to add more kids and make it compatible they need to do it

i agree but lack same skillset to impliment it. one of the mutiple marriage mods even states sending a spouce to a different home so as not to cause scripting issues with having more than one spouce in a single home or town. with that in mind being able to send 2 kids to each vanila home and each hearthfire one would allow you to get them all.

I see a lot of requests out there for mods that would help, but I have a complete lack of skill when it comes to modding. It seems like it should be an easy task (see the lack of skill comment), my house at Lakeview Manor has so many beds it's crazy. I have 2 kids, my wife, my steward, and my bard. However I have 4 single beds and two double beds. Lakeview has one extra spot!

 

However I have my Whitehelm house that has more beds than just my housecarl needs, Breezehome has the option for beds and right now, that's all I have. I'd love the opportunity to help these kids out.

We will have to wait till someone makes a mod that allows you to adopt more then 2 children there is 2 mods on steam not sure if it's on the nexus as well or not but 1 mod when activated adds 1 daughter to your breezehome and the other one adds a son.

Aww this would be cute. I do think its awful you can't just take them all under your wing. I mean i have like 20 million followers that could baby sit.

 

I'm busy with other mods at the moment or I'd take this up,though my skillset lies more with texturing/modeling and actor creation than it does scripting.

I'd also really like a mod that lets me adopt more children. The first thing I did when I got Hearthfire was to go adopt Runa from Riften, as she was my daughter with the old mod that was taken off the workshop, I believe, after HF came out. I then went straight to Rorikstead to adopt Sissel. After killing her sister and her father, I've always wanted to take her in and care for the poor little girl, so naturally I went straight for her. But then I was really upset that I couldn't bring in Lucia from Whiterun. It makes me so sad to walk through the streets and hear her say "You're the best! Can you be my father?" and know there's no way I can.

yeap. 2 wasnt enough. i mean...if some parents can raise 10-20 children IRL so why cant in gaming world, a place where we can fulfill our fantasy?

 

wish i could adopt Mila, plus her milfy mom drive me crazy.

 

but i cant stand looking at lucia and sophie. especially sophie since her sad story.

 

and the same time i wish i could adopt sissel,a girl that fit as "Daughter of Dovahkiin" or maybe Runa and Aventus as "Heir of the Listener".

I'm not sure if it allows more adoptions though.

 

What is added:

-6 orphanages: Dawnstar, Solitude, Windhelm, Winterhold, Whiterun, Markarth

-36 children: 4 Argonian, 4 Dark Elf, 4 Wood Elf, 4 High Elf, 4 Khajit, 4 Orc, rest are a mix of standard child races.

-Donation system: Similar to donating to a beggar, just a donation chest in the orphanages.
