wootcat Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I've been trying for a few days to get a set of mods working with Skyrim SE using Mod Organizer 2. Just when I think I get things working, games will start to crash at some point during the save load process. Once the CTD starts, trying to load any save, even ones that have loaded successfully before, don't. My process for getting this set up was... 1. Start a new game with no mods. Save in Helgen (call this Save 1) 2. Install and start a few easy/simple mods. 3. Run Skyrim. Save. Quit. Restart Skyrim and load that new save. 4. If it loaded, I then installed 1 or 2 more mods and repeated step 3. So, I got to where I was thinking it was finally working. I made it to Riverwood and started the Gold Claw quest. Halfway through, I think it crashed. and when I went to reload, I got the CTD, and all the saves acted the same way. Here's my Mods (if there's an easy way to cut and paste the list from MO2, please tell me! Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended SkyUI UNP Female Body Renewal SSE RaceMenu Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice Fores New Idles in Skyrim SE - FNIS SE FNIS - Creature Pack SE FNIS - Spells SE FNIS - Output SexLab Light SE 0 1 1 SOS SL Matchmaker Light SE 0 1 0 SpousesEnhanced SE 1 SL Pleasure SE Flower Girls SE and VR A Quality World Map Unread Books Glow SE Cutting Room Floor Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks SE Relationship Dialog OVerhaul - RDO SE RDO - iAFT SE Patch FG Amorous Adventures SSE While installing FNIS and all the mods that use it, I made sure to run Update FNIS Behavior and move the overwrite files to FNIS- Output. What other information should I provide here? And thanks!
Baron Of Hell Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 It is possible for the game to become corrupted but not crash causing every save you make to become corrupted. However, your problem sounds like something that was fixed in SSE Engine Fixes.. Try using that mod and make sure to edit the ini file for it as needed. You said all saves are crashing. Do you mean even saves that worked before are crashing? I had the same problem SSE Engine Fixes fixed it. Can you make a new game, save, and reload? If not load of the mods in Xedit, in fact just do that now. It might give you a error that states the problem.
DarkFlame277 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Make sure to always run LOOT to sort your load order after installing your mods and you can use Modwatch with MO2 to automatically upload your mod list, load order, and ini files to the internet and then you can copy the link here. Also make sure to run GenerateFNISforUsers last, after you have installed all your mods containing animations. Hope this helps
wootcat Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 No. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Yes, at least some of them. From time to time as I was adding mods, I would save a profile and note the Save. For instance, after I added Quality Map, Book Glow, and Cutting Room Floor, I saved the profile and loaded up the original clean base save, waited for all the mods to load, then made a new save. I then quit the game, and ran it again, loading the save I just made, to test if it loaded fine. Every time I did that, it loaded fine. But then, after everything *appeared* to be running fine, I would finish Helgen and save once I exited to Skyrim. Those saves are the ones that CTD. I just tried it again with a subset of the mods (through Cutting Room Floor), and it still crashed trying to load the save outside Helgen. Do you still think I should try the SSE Engine Fixes? Any other thoughts as well? Thanks so much!
wootcat Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 Question. If I load up a previously-saved profile, do I need to run GenerateFNISForUsers again? I originally did before saving the profile, and my thought is that the profile would hold any of the changes generated by this.
DoubleTrouble999 Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 SKEE64 for racemenu and XPMSE 4.31 are known to cause CTDs on loading, and just random CTDs. You either need to run SSE Engine Fixes or rollback to XPMSSE 4.20
wootcat Posted June 18, 2018 Author Posted June 18, 2018 I installed SSE Engine Fixes. I then loaded up all my mods and loaded my clean base Helgen Save. When I got outside Helgen, I saved and quit and attempted to load that save. It loaded fine! I'll be testing this for a few days, but as of this moment, it looks like the SSE Engine Fixes fixed the problem! Thanks!

khumak Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 You should also put XPMSSE after anything else that touches skeletons (SOS, weapons styles, belt quivers, etc).
