YPTG -- "Your Path through Gender"

 

This is a straightforward modification of the Heart of Dibella and Book of Love quest chains from Vanilla Skyrim that adds a sex change to the plot for male characters. It's designed to be a way to integrate the Sex Change Curse from Sexlab Hormones with the game's story and to add some narrative flavor to both.

 

How to install:

 -> Install Sexlab Hormones (https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/416-sexlab-hormones-2017-12-22/) and all of its requirements. Make sure the Sex Change Curse is enabled in the MCM options.

 -> Install this mod. It shouldn't matter where it is in your load order as long as it comes after Sexlab Hormones and as long as nothing else that modifies the Heart of Dibella quest comes after it. The Book of Love quest is not modified and neither are any of the NPCs.

 

How to start:

 -> As a male character, talk to Degaine at the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth about stealing the statue. Get caught in the inner sanctum and talk to Hamal. The Divines will take things from there.

 

Some tips:

 -> Whether you use this late or early in your game shouldn't matter, as long a you haven't started Heart of Dibella yet.

 -> If you've already started or completed Heart of Dibella, you can still see at least part of the mod. Trigger the Sex Change Curse manually through Sexlab Hormones, then type "setstage _yptg_hrt 110" in the console and follow the directions in the journal.

 -> The mod will be more interesting if you haven't finished Book of Love yet, but it should technically work either way.

 -> Not tested on Skyrim Special Edition, but in theory it should work wherever you can get its requirements working.

 -> As with all mods, keep a separate save.

Thanks for making a mod for male PCs.  The mod should work fine in SSE.  However, the header of the .esp file needs to be changed from LE Type 43 to SE Type 44.  Type 43 headers will work in SE.  However, they are known to cause random CTDs which can be very hard to trace down.  Converting a Type 43 header to Type 44 is real easy.  Install the mod in SE and then load the .esp file into the Creation Kit.  Once it is loaded all you have to do is save the .esp file.  The saved .esp file now has a Type 44 header.

Thanks for letting me know! Is it this line in xEdit? I'd be happy to make the change but I don't actually have the special edition and it looks like the SE Creation Kit won't work without it.

I don't see any conflicts just glancing through the esp in xEdit and the Creation Kit. It doesn't modify the original Dibella quest, which seems like it would be the only possible conflict (unless it messes with Hamal or Dinya somehow). I'll try it out later but it seems like they ought to be compatible.

I'm having trouble with the new girl quest.  It wont let me talk to Hamal after bringing them the sybil. Is this a bug or do i have to complete something else to triger it?

Thanks for creating this add-on for Hormones.

 

You could also mention in the download page that this mod is useful if you want the sex change after the quest without making a lot of changes to the dibella quests themselves.

 

One of my mods, The Sisterhood of Dibella, includes this effect already along with a larger quest and changes to the temple and its characters (it also requires Hormones to work).

Does TPTG work with Sisterhood of Dibella?

If it doesn't can you two make it work?

If it does, why not add in some cross-compatibility features (Example: After Getting "Purified" you get your "Initiation" to Dibella)

I have not tested this mod with the Sisterhood, but as I understand it, Sisterhood already does what this mod proposes - once you complete the Heart of Dibella quest as a male, Dibella grants you a perk and turns you into a female.

Well, YPTG makes you a sister as punishment for entering the sanctum as a male, and I do think i prefer that route, it adds a little more immersion for a punishment and having to do the quest.

I did install both with a new save (With Alt.Start) and it hasn't crashed, so it doesn't seem like it breaks the game... yet.

Yeah, you get turned female right after being caught and have to do the quest as "punishment" for your actions. It does this by adding a new quest that has dependencies on the status/completion of Heart of Dibella, and Book of Love to progress.

 

I think it is a good implementation, it does immerse you into the actions of your character a bit more in my opinion.

 

But you two working together on making cross-features would be great.

Yeah, maybe YP can extend it, or collaborate with DBF to add in cross-questing with Sisterhood of Dibella.

Well, Like i said in a earlier comment, why not introduce an "initiation" after being turned female for entering the sanctum, then being forced to do the quest.

 

Other ideas would be

1. Having your first sexual encounter as a female, as part of the quest

2. Increased Arousal for X amount of time, as I think being changed into a woman would through your hormones out of whack.

3. Maybe adding a dream sequence of Dibella (In a disembodied voice/text), then having you change?

4. Maybe add in some flavor dialogue to the Sisters to acknowledge your former self, until you finish the quests in YPTG

5. (This is more dependent on what YP wants to do in regards to extending YPTG's Quest-line) Add more to the quest.

 

Those are some i can name off of the top of my head, but the first two (the "initiation" and the first encounter as a female) are the ones i would like to see the most.

No it does not, The mother in the mod basically says "I won't revoke Dibella's will", which does make sense lore-wise.

 

Even more-so with the side of Dibella's religion that your mod looks at.

I have a bug. There is no dialogue with Hamal after finishing quest "Hearth of Dibbela". Hamal says, that i should go and drink some water after that she will talk, but nothing is gona happen. Help please!!!

Wonderful mod, along with Hormones, they do make a great change in gameplay. Completed the quest without any problem or bugs, the only strange thing i noted was in racemenu, where the makeup is not aligned, making it look like the Joker. Not sure if is from one of those mods or problems in my end, but not the end of the world, i am happy nonetheless.

 

Just a question, the Agent of Dibella perk now only boosts Speech? I personaly prefer the previous bonus as it was very powerful, but things can always change for better? Maybe a two type buff or choose what kind of agent of Dibella you wanna be, a more charismatic one or some other kind.

 

Indeed the quest was very short, but i loved to have a better reason to do them than just get the perks. I think it can get even better. I liked the ideas from Malos323 as well. Just some other mines here:

 

• Add some radiant npcs around the world related to the quest or just common priestess sharing blessings.

• Like the radiant Mara's quest to distribute panflets, can also be done for Dibella but with some other kind of reward.

• Some work using sex to spread the love of Dibella, but nothing low as a brothel, something more sacred?

• A quest to help random non-essential npcs marry or convert to either religion.

• Some line when the player gets pregnant after changing body.

 

I know some of those aren't exclusively mod related but since there are few mods exploring this side i think should be fun.

I have similar issue. Some of the other NPCs in the temple have responses to questions about the new body, it makes me think you're supposed to talk to Hamal and she instructs you to talk to the others in the the temple. I think Hamal's dialogue isn't showing up in the dialogue tree. 

So I can talk to her, but after she instructs you to talk to her about your New Body, when you speak to her no dialogues come up that look like they are related to that instruction.

The next version of the Sisterhood of Dibella will have two paths to turn a male player into female as part of the quest:

 

1- After talking to Hamal and receiving the task to find the new Sybil, you will be transformed into a woman the first time you have sex with a woman.

2- If you have completed the Heart of Dibella quest already and you have the Agent of Dibella effect, you will also be turned into a woman first time you have sex with a woman.

 

This is Dibella's gift for you.

 

In both cases, the sex change option needs to be enabled using the stone flower on the Dibella altar in the temple AND the sex change curse needs to be allowed in Hormones.

Not sure if it's this mod, but the male Dremora Outcasts have mismatched head and body colours.  Any way to fix this?
