Playable children

I have been reading too much about children lately to start showing interests in this.  But many mods caution about how it is game mechanic changing that it may break a lot of other mods.  The risk is simply too high.  Killable children is not really high on my list because there aren't many children in the world and chasing down a little brat to kill is a novelty I get over very fast (tried it in Fo4, cool, uninstalled it the next day in fear of conflicts with other mods).  

Now I am wondering, do our characters have to be flagged as children in the game engine?  Is there any playable children mod in the nutshell just another custom race that has a tiny body mesh, as short as children, and with a children like face mesh.  But as far as the game concerns, it is just another custom race like all the custom races we see out there, and totally leave the children flag untouched.

A very touchy subject hopefully motives are legit not questionable but there is a mod that lets you grow up in skyrim you start as a teen https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56916/

Sorry for my up front statement but it really needs no explanation. And I have no real idea about mod there was another but I believe that mod author quit the Nexus.

RS children on nexus is legit and allows for playing as a child however it still edits vanilla records.

Skykids found here on LL somewhere uses ( or used to, not too sure) custom child races and doesn't modify the vanilla child races unless you use the child replacer.

I think there's also monli or elin you know the one with the weird little elfs with the anime eyes that you'll see every now and then, that uses a custom race.

but not to forget, all children mods, races, followers, NPCs are subject to the youth protection law, So no mods with naked children.
even here on LL prohibited.
