About This File
Now Available — free, for everyone
The reward for the mountain peak was always the climb. Now there's something waiting at the top.
For years the deal in Skyrim has been the same: good loot comes off strong enemies, and everywhere else is empty scenery. Forgotten Relics breaks that. It takes the weapons your mods have added — all of them — and scatters them across the far corners of the map. Dragon lairs, frozen summits, troll warrens, forgotten Nordic ruins, giant camps, guardian stones. Any remote place can now be hiding a blade nobody's held in an age.
Here's the part that matters: it reads your load order, not mine. The old version shipped with my personal weapon list baked in. This one doesn't ship a list at all — it scans your own active plugins in-game and hides your relics. Two people with different mods get two different worlds.
What's included:
- Universal in-game scanner — reads every mod-added weapon from your active plugins and ESLs, in small batches so it never chokes on a big list, and remembers the result in your save
- Handcrafted locations — the hiding spots are curated, not random noise; the rarity, the guardians, and the climb are intentional
- Its own chest for every relic — placed around map markers at runtime with zero cell edits, so it conflicts with nothing
- Guardians — the first cache in a location may be watched over by a bandit boss, a frost troll, a draugr, or a dragon priest. Earn it.
- Nothing of mine comes with it — the public build carries no weapons from my install. Every relic you find is one you already own.
This isn't a loot mod that dumps a chest of the same swords in every dungeon. It's a reason to walk toward the horizon instead of the quest marker.
Requirements:
- SKSE64
- PapyrusUtil
- Papyrus Extender 6.3.0+
Installation:
- Install the archive with your mod manager like any normal mod
- New save or existing, doesn't matter — the quest starts itself
- On first load, wait for the notice: Forgotten Relics: a new world of relics has been mapped. On very large load orders this can take a few minutes while you play — let it work
One honest note: this is a fresh build of the scanner, and load orders in the wild get strange. If something lands where it shouldn't or a cache goes missing, tell me what your setup looks like — that's worth more than any bug report without it. He doesn't ship on a schedule; he ships when it's right, and he keeps fixing after.
Patrons had the early builds. Now it's everyone's — because free mods stay free here, always. Patrons just get them first.
Go find something no one remembers leaving behind.
