3. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

One of the only categories that has mutliple entries, I actually had trouble deciding on the order of the games for this one (well SoV was always going to be 3rd) and in the end I based it on alphabetical order, Persona and Nier where the two best games that came out this year that I played they're both works of art as well as both having AMAZING soundtracks.

1. Dragonball Xenoverse 2
2. Bayonetta

A category I nicked off the youtube channel Pretty Good Gaming, Xenoverse 2 tops it because I loved its predecessor and this one improves on it in every way (even if I never did figure out how to get my Xenoverse 1 character into the game) balancing the Saiyan transformations and giving the other races their own transformations in addition to a smarter AI (I may find it frustrating sometimes but not being able to go super Saiyan and just spam Kamehamehas to win in side quests and the main story.) Bayonetta only comes second because I've not played too much of it every moment I did play I absolutely loved.

1. South Park the Fractured but Whole
2. Horizon Zero Dawn

Not necessarily the worst games I've played this year but the ones that let me down the most. Horizon Zero Dawn was a game that I was looking forward to but ended up finding to be massively disappointing, I felt it was mediocre as fuck being generic wide open world sandbox game #257 and after hearing the ending from my mate found out that I got one of the plot points spot on, also no memorable music.

1. South Park the Fractured but Whole

I probably spoiled this a bit with the previous section but I'm sorry if you can't get your main menu working without a day one patch you dun fucked it up, not to mention the 3 (FUCKING THREE) layers of DRM I'm glad I got my refund on this game in order to get Vanquish and Bayonetta, two games that actually fucking worked.
