Bad Ends - Camping

With time to spare before her next journey, Erika made camp beside the tranquil waters of Lake Ilinalta. The morning air was crisp, the snow-capped peaks watching silently from beyond the trees. A crackling fire sent soft plumes of smoke into the sky.

Having gathered a few more logs, Erika tossed them onto the flames, satisfied with the slow roar they produced. With the morning sun rising and no pressing task ahead, she decides to take some time to rest. She slips into her tent and lays herself down on top of the bedroll and shuts her eyes to the sound of the crackling campfire. 

But Lake Ilinalta held more than just beauty — it marked the edge of territory claimed by one of Skyrim’s more ruthless bandit clans. A lone fire, bright and unguarded, was as good as a flare to anyone watching from the trees.

Unaware of the danger creeping closer, Erika lay resting, her weapons tucked away, blissfully ignorant of the peril coming her way. She had faced trolls, draugr, and worse — but nothing quite so dangerous as the silence before an ambush.

And from the shadows, someone had noticed.

The bandit places Erika outside while he pilfers the tent for any valuables and loot he can get his hands on. After bagging up everything he wants. He steps outside the tent to find a fellow bandit coming round on patrol who stumbles onto the scene that has unfolded.
