It also appears she doesn't understand human nature to well yet. At no point in time did the promise of impending doom and destruction stop humans from attempting something foolish if just the hope of gaining power was in the mix too. (Even if not there is always the option to do it because we can.)

For Drevis, she accepted because she wanted to be of service. She didn't know Drevis was a pervert.

As for Magnus's eye, she knows that it could be the undoing of Skyrim.

But for the quest, it wouldn't have worked, unless you left Tolfdir, Brelyna, Ommund and J'zargo in Saarthal, but that would have felt weird and “quest unfinished”.
