Hmm, interesting theory. Sounds a bit odd though, they are in effect an Island Nation so securing at least one port would be in their best interest, going via the south, how will they get there? They would've to go through Empire held territories to attack those cities. More important, how will they supply their troops? Wars are all about supply lines.

Cyrodiil is already under the Thalmor’s control, they have infested the Council of Elders and take decisions for the Members and corrupt them.
So taking Cyrodiil is not really a problem being that the Empire is weakened. So they will invade Cyrodiil and block the reinforcements from both sides of the fronton.

Well ... ya know ... "all is fair in love and war". So while I certainly don't like the goldenboy club, that's something you can't hold against them. It wasn't fair to drop atomic bombs on largely civilian targets either, but it sure was effective. Besides, Vaermine should really pay more attention to her toys, it's not becoming a wannabe goddess to lose her stuff all the time.

That's a pretty dark view, I sure would think the Cyrodilic people would object/resist an open occupation. And if not, then the Empire fell already at that point and Tullius question is moot as he would likely be recalled to Cyrodil prior to the invasion of Skyrim (at best, at worst he would've to aid the Thalmor invasion).

You will find out in the third part of the blog. When I have time to go there.
And when you speak to Tullius, he tells you that another war against the Domain is most likely to be expected.
He knows that the Thalmor and Domaine are preparing something against the Empire.
The Domain has not said its last word.
