SLSF Reloaded - Gaining Fame
Overview
In SLSF Reloaded, gaining fame is similar to the old SLSF. There are "Periodic Increases" and "Event-Based Increases".
Periodic Increases are scheduled to happen once every 30 in-game minutes, while Event-Based Increases happen when your character does something that warrants a Fame Increase.
Like the old SLSF, if your character is considered "Anonymous" then you will not gain fame until you are not considered Anonymous.
The maximum fame you can reach in SLSF Reloaded is 150, unlike 100 from the old SLSF.
When you Sleep or Wait, the mod will account for the time that has passed. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO NOT SPAM THE SLEEP/WAIT MENU!!!
The mod will attempt to "catch up" with itself by multiplying your Fame Gains by the number that should have happened since you last Slept or Waited.
For example, if 2 Periodic Increases should have happened while you were sleeping or waiting, it will multiply your gained fame by 2 to simulate multiple increases happening instead of actually running the entire script again.
Periodic Fame Increase
Periodic Fame is dependent on an NPC Scanning function, and if your character qualifies for certain fame increases via Periodic Increase.
Every 30 in-game minutes, SLSF Reloaded will scan an area around your character to check for NPCs that can see your character. Your character is considered "visible" to that NPC if they have Line of Sight to your character and the NPC detects your character. If the NPC is closer to your character than the distance defined in the MCM, then they do not need to have Line of Sight to your character or be actively detecting them to be able to cause a periodic fame gain. However, the default distance for this is quite short (160 Units, or 7.5 Feet - Slightly longer than the height of most characters). Ultimately, this means you have the option to "dodge" fame by being stealthy. Also, if an NPC is in the middle of a Sexlab animation they will not be included in the list of NPCs that could cause a periodic fame gain because they are "too distracted".
If the NPC can cause a fame gain, it checks the relationship value that NPC has towards your character. Depending on the relationship, a different % chance applies to whether or not that NPC will spread word about your sexual escapades.
By default, NPCs with an "Enemy" relationship will always succeed this check (100%), NPCs that have a "Neutral" relationship are very likely to succeed this check (75%), NPCs that have a "Friend" relationship might succeed this check (50%), and NPCs that have a "Lover" relationship are unlikely to succeed this check (25%).
If at least one NPC succeeds this check, you will gain fame so long as you qualify for at least one fame category and the other NPCs will be skipped for the current Periodic Fame check process. Unlike the old SLSF, the number of NPCs that can see you doesn't affect how much fame you gain from a Periodic Increase. More NPCs that see you simply means it is MORE LIKELY that at least one NPC will cause a fame increase. Therefore, if all NPCs that can see you have less than a 100% chance to cause a fame increase, then it is possible for a Periodic Fame increase to "fail" (not give you any fame) - in this case, it is because all NPCs failed to trigger it by "missing" their roll. This is not a bug, it is an intended feature.
Unlike the old SLSF, the Periodic Increase will not necessarily give you fame in every category you qualify for. This is because the Periodic Increase function randomly picks how many categories to give you fame in, but will always give you fame in at least one category you qualify for - if one exists. For example, if I qualify for periodic Slut Fame and Tattoo Fame, I might only receive Slut fame during one Periodic Increase check and only receive Tattoo Fame on the next. However, I will always gain at least one as long as the NPC scan successfully triggers a Periodic Fame Gain.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may receive any type of fame during a periodic fame increase, so long as you meet at least one requirement for that category:

If using Advanced Nudity Detection, any condition in that mod qualifies you for Exhibitionist fame - but each condition has a defined limit before you stop gaining Exhibitionist fame (aka, if you have at least this much exhibitionist fame, you will not gain any more until you go below the threshold for your current condition):
- Nude (150 Fame/No Limit)
- Topless and/or Bottomless (100 Fame)
- Showing Chest and/or Genitals (75 Fame)
- Showing Ass (50 Fame)

-
If using Advanced Nudity Detection, any condition in that mod qualifies you for Exhibitionist fame - but each condition has a defined limit before you stop gaining Exhibitionist fame (aka, if you have at least this much exhibitionist fame, you will not gain any more until you go below the threshold for your current condition):
-
Be seen having sex
- If you are in the middle of a Sexlab animation when the Periodic Fame check happens, you can gain Exhibitionist Fame if an NPC that's not having sex with you sees you.
- Have a tattoo visible with "Exhibitionist" defined as its extra fame category

- The number of devices you are wearing and the type of device you are wearing determines what your soft limit is for this fame category
-
The soft limit is equal to 15 x "Bondage Points" as described below (more than 8 points means No Limit)

-
The number of visible tattoos determines your soft limit:
(All Others)
- Have a tattoo visible with the category in question defined as its extra fame category
Event-Based Fame Increase (Fame from Sex)
The most common "Event-Based Fame Increase" is when you start a Sexlab animation, and SLSF Reloaded's only internal "Event-Based Fame Increase" is through Sexlab animations.
However, mods that utilize SLSF Reloaded's scripts can cause increases from certain events other than a Sexlab animation, such as dialogue, completing a quest, or anything else that mod's author wants. Make sure you know what the mod does in order to understand how you can gain fame from it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SLSF Reloaded will give you fame from a Sexlab animation that you're included in, based on the conditions listed below.
Pre-Checked Conditions
- If your animation includes at least one NPC that has an Enemy or Neutral relationship to the player, a Fame Gain is guaranteed.
- If your animation includes NPCs that all have at least a Friend relationship to the player, Fame Gain is based on a % chance set in the MCM (Sex With Friend Fame Chance)
- If your animation includes NPCs that all have a Lover relationship to the player, Fame Gain is based on a % chance set in the MCM (Sex With Lover Fame Chance)
NOTE - The three conditions above are all based on the LOWEST relationship of any NPC included in the player's animation. For example, if the player's animation includes an Enemy/Neutral, a Friend, and a Lover, the player is guaranteed to gain fame from the animation because of the Enemy/Neutral; If the player's animation includes a Friend and a Lover, the player's chance to gain fame is based on the Sex With Friend chance; If the player's animation only includes Lovers, the player's chance to gain fame is based on the Sex With Lover chance.
- If the player is masturbating, SLSF Reloaded will use the Periodic Fame process instead and run an NPC scan (this will not offset the normal Periodic Fame timing).
SLUT
The player is neither an Aggressor nor Victim [AND] The animation does not have the Aggressive tag [AND] The player is not currently the Public Whore of that location or otherwise recognized as engaging in sex for money
WHORE
Same as "Slut" fame, but the player IS currently the Public Whore of that location or recognized as engaging in sex for money
(Other mods, such as Simple Player Prostitution, can cause SLSF Reloaded to give Whore fame instead of Slut fame as well. See "SLSF Reloaded - Internal Flags")
ORAL
The animation has the Oral tag
ANAL
The animation has the Anal tag
GROUP
The animation has the Orgy tag
-OR-
The animation has more than 2 actors
MASOCHIST
The player is flagged as a Victim (being raped) [AND] "Allow Masochist Fame When Raped" is enabled
-OR-
The player is wearing a valid Devious Device
SADIST
The player is flagged as an Aggressor (raping someone)
-OR-
The player is considered Dominant and the animation is tagged as "Aggressive"
-OR-
The player's partner is wearing a Devious Device (except Piercings, Plugs, and Collars)
(Sadist fame is blocked if the player has received Masochist Fame)
GENTLE
The player is neither an Aggressor nor Victim [AND] The animation has the Loving, Hugging, Cuddling, or Kissing tag.
LIKES MEN/WOMEN
The player is having sex with a Man and/or Woman
LIKES KHAJIIT/ORC/ARGONIAN
The player is having sex with a Khajiit, Orc, and/or Argonian
(If you are being raped, "Likes" fame will not increase unless "Allow 'Likes' Fame When Raped" is enabled)
(Under the right conditions, all 5 “Likes” fame can be gained in a single animation)
BESTIALITY
The animation has the Bestiality or Creature tag
IMPORTANT NOTE: Many creature animations are flagged/tagged as non-consensual meaning Sexlab will think you're being raped even if you're technically not (unless the animation is flagged/tagged as consensual). If Sexlab thinks you are being raped, Bestiality fame will not increase unless "Allow Bestiality Fame When Raped" is enabled.
------------------------
Submissive and Dominant are tricky. There’s no sure-fire way I’m aware of to find who is in a dominant role or a submissive role during a Sexlab animation. None of my animations had a reasonable tag to check for. Therefore, one of the following will be given based on the additional conditions listed (the function is very similar to Sexlab P+, so users of P+ shouldn't notice issues):
SUBMISSIVE
The player’s base sex is Female
-OR-
The player is wearing a valid Devious Device
-OR-
The “Submissive Only” option is enabled in the SLSF Reloaded MCM
DOMINANT
The player’s base sex is Male
-OR-
The player's base sex is Female and using a Strap-On
-OR-
The “Dominant Only” option is enabled in the SLSF Reloaded MCM
------------------------
Lastly, you can decide whether or not to include Foreplay/Lead In animations in Fame gains in the MCM ("Allow Foreplay Fame Bonus"). Foreplay animations will give half of the normal fame you would gain (minimum 1), based on the above conditions, effectively giving you an average of 50% more fame per Sexlab event overall. However, since this is a separate animation event, the Foreplay animation will give you different fame compared to the non-Foreplay animation if they have different tags.
If you want to change the animation or cancel the animation for any reason, you have 10 seconds to do so before SLSF Reloaded begins analyzing the animation and giving you fame. However, this also means you can't have animations be excessively short or it won't be properly detected.
Restricted/Filtered Locations
Starting in 3.0, certain locations are restricted/filtered out from being valid locations to gain fame in.
For example, it doesn't make much sense to gain fame while you're exploring Bleak Falls Barrow regardless of if you have a companion with you or not. Despite the location technically being in Falkreath Hold according to the game (yes, Falkreath is set as the parent location for Bleak Falls Barrow, not Whiterun), there should realistically be nobody there that would care what you're up to, nor should anyone in that location be capable of "going into town" to spread such things about you. Draugr typically aren't very social. The bandits are also not there "permanently" - they're just trying to get whatever treasure is there and leave - so that also doesn't entirely make sense.
Locations marked as any of the following will prevent you from gaining fame:
- Nordic Ruins
- Dwemer Ruins
- Caves
- Animal Dens
- Falmer Hives
- Forsworn Camps
However, if any of the above locations are ALSO marked as any of the following, their exclusion will be nullified and still allow you to gain fame:
- Bandit Camp
- Vampire Lair
- Warlock Lair
- Military Fort
- Military Camp
Restricted locations are also incapable of being registered as Custom Locations because the exclusion list will prevent fame being applied to that location.
These lists are open to suggestions and might change in the future.
How Much Fame Do I Gain?
Whenever you gain fame via Periodic or Event-Based increases, it will check your CURRENT fame value in that category before adding any. Then, it will add a random amount of fame to that category based on how much fame you currently have:
-
0-24: Gain 1 to 10 per instance by default
- This is the "Very Low" tier
-
25-49: Gain 1 to 8 per instance by default
- This is the "Low" tier
-
50-74: Gain 1 to 6 per instance by default
- This is the "Medium" tier
-
75-99: Gain 1 to 4 per instance by default
- This is the "High" tier
-
100+: Gain 1 or 2 per instance by default
- This is the "Very High" tier
You can change the maximum possible amount gained for each fame tier. You can set it to any number between 1 and 20.
These increases will be multiplied by the “Fame Change Multiplier” which can be set between 0.5 and 3. By default, the mod uses a Global Multiplier which affects every fame category equally. You can choose to use Category-Specific multipliers instead. Regardless of any settings, you will always gain at least 1 fame when a fame gain event successfully triggers.
At night, your Fame Increases are halved (again, down to a minimum of 1). You can decide what times of the evening are considered “Night”, and you can also turn this feature off if you wish.
By default, Fame Increase notifications are disabled, but you may enable them in the MCM. Disabled notifications give a more "realistic" experience because you might not always 'know' that your fame has changed.
Tattoos
The mod will check your applied tattoos as needed. As previously described, you can apply an Extra Fame Type that you wish to have on each tattoo applied. However, the mod can't automatically detect when your tattoo has changed. Therefore, if you add a tattoo, or change tattoos in a certain slot, you will need to change what extra fame type is associated with it, if needed. If the tattoo slot is detected as "unused", it will not apply any fame, even if you still have an extra fame category selected for that slot. Unused tattoo slots have their extra options disabled.
By default, the mod will assign a “None” extra fame type, but you can also select “Tattoo” to get the same result since “None” is not selectable in the list.
Body tattoos have an extra option called “Subcategory”. This tells SLSF Reloaded WHERE the tattoo is applied to your character and will help it determine if that tattoo is visible based on what other compatible mods you have installed (such as Sexlab Survival and Advanced Nudity Detection). The options are: None, Chest, Pelvis, Ass, and Back. SLSF Reloaded cannot automatically detect your tattoo's location.
I have added a “Covers Back” keyword for armors that should be recognized as covering your Back and therefore hiding any tattoo that is given the “Back” subcategory.
Additionally, there is a “Covers Hands” and “Covers Feet” keyword for similar reasons, as well as "DoesNotCover" keyword variants for items that should NOT cover those areas.
THE "COVERS" KEYWORDS WILL WORK ON ANY SLOT! MAKE SURE YOU APPLY THEM PROPERLY OR YOU MAY GET UNINTENDED RESULTS!!!
The "DoesNotCoverHands" keyword only works if used on an item that uses Slot 33 (Hands/Gauntlets).
The "DoesNotCoverFeet" keyword only works if used on an item that uses Slot 37 (Feet/Boots).
The "DoesNotCoverBack" keyword only works if used on an item that uses Slot 46 or 47. However, there are certain conditions:
- If you are wearing armor in Slot 32 and it does not have either the SLS_BikiniArmor keyword or your character does not have either the Showing Chest or Showing Bra condition from Advanced Nudity Detection (if installed), then your back tattoo will be covered
-
If the other slot is used and does not also have the "DoesNotCoverBack" keyword, or does not have the "_SLS_BikiniArmor" keyword, it will still cover your back
- IE: If Slot 46 is equipped and has "DoesNotCoverBack", but Slot 47 is also equipped and does NOT have "DoesNotCoverBack" or "_SLS_BikiniArmor", back is covered (and vice-versa for Slot 47)
- If any worn item has the "CoversBack" keyword, it will override the "DoesNotCoverBack" keyword
The ability to edit the tattoo fields will only be unlocked when the mod detects a tattoo in that respective slot. Therefore, if that field is disabled, it is ignored by the mod and therefore any selection that may be remaining doesn’t matter. Tattoos not applied by Slave Tats will not be detected (aka - RaceMenu Overlays, SLS Curse Tattoos, etc). Mods that use Slave Tats functions to apply tattoos should result in those tattoos being detected.
If you frequently change Tattoos, then you will need to frequently update your tattoo data if you want things to keep behaving the way you want. Unfortunately there's no way around this right now.
Bound Fame & Why I Exclude Certain Devices
The reason why I exclude Collars (by default), Piercings, and Plugs from giving “Bound” fame is because these devices typically aren’t quite “extreme” enough to warrant fame.
For example, I know a girl who wore a sex collar while out with her boyfriend IRL, and nobody really seemed to notice, or at the very least didn’t say anything. It was subtle enough that it was easily overlooked. Though she DOES happen to be into bondage, it wasn’t enough for people to draw any conclusions.
Additionally, Piercings and Plugs don’t make sense for gaining Bound Fame either. There’s nothing really “binding” about them. These are used IRL for additional sexual stimulation to one or both sexual partners.
Since Sexlab Survival requires a collar in the early game in most cases, I don’t think it’s entirely fair for you to gain Bound Fame when you don’t have any real choice in the matter. I understand that the lack of choice is kind of the POINT of Devious Devices and related mods, but it still doesn't seem fair to me. However, I have added a configuration option to enable Bound Fame from Collars if you wish.
