Just Wonderful ...

Well, not only have I been turfed out of my normal little coding corner where all my stuff is, but no sooner do I get set up here than my computer bluescreens.

Now it won't boot into windows at all; it just gives me a black screen. It boots into the linux system on the other partition all right, so it's probably not hardware.

Damn. Seems like every time I start to make progress something happens ...

[edit]

In case anyone's interested: booted from a windows live CD and and running chkdsk on the C: drive. Hopefully there'll be enough left to boot from when it finishes deleting orphan fragments...

what SO are you using? Seven usually repairs everything broken on the SO side/folder when put inside an USB drive or the dvd.

I'm still on XP. I didn't want Vista when I bought the machine, and 7 wasn't released then.

Anyway, got it sorted. Booted from a live windows cd and spent the whole afternoon running chkdsk but it's going again :)
