“Dark Ascension 4-year Anniversary!” - CELEBRATION!
ITS BEEN FOUR YEARS since my first blog entry dropped the very first chapter of a multi-book series of my comic adventure. Granted, I hadn’t published anything since the 3-year Anniversary Celebration post until recently, but hey, the celebration is also for me to look back, admire what I have done and inspire me to continue (push) forward.
Unlike past Anniversary or Holiday screenshot blog entries showcasing cut content and concept shots from Dark Ascension comics, cool but older pics i had taken in Skyrim and Fallout 4, this year I would like to share something special.
A new, sci-fi comic series I have been working on and off called “Mobius Ascension.”

Mobius Ascension
Planned New Comic
During the fall of 2019, I started coming up with ideas for a sci-fi comic series. I started creating brand new interior cells, and reskinning meshes for a sci-fi themed comic story using Fallout4 engine. I love the dynamic lighting effects Fallout 4 has to offer (better than Skyrim Special Edition) which really helps creating spooky atmospheres.
What’s the character and story?
Mobius Ascension follows a female protagonist (duh) who was an ex-soldier of a long lost war (her side lost). She now works as a space-hauling trucker in the Outer-Rim of space where the grasp of the oppressive Terran Reich regime is the weakest. In addition, she also works as a scrapper and as a low level bounty hunter, keeping away from the bigger contracts to avoid dealing with Terran Reich authorities that often issue those contracts. Yet because of her ex-military experience, she often finds herself dealing with bigger contracts and run-ins with the Terran Reich.
In addition, the Outer-Rim is filled with rundown, often abandoned and derelict space stations and ships, frontier planets, all surrounded by lawless pirates, crime syndicates, and worst - the unknown, ancient dangers lurking in the unexplored horrors of space.
I have had about 3 or 4 story outlines written so far and a few written panels that are waiting for pictures. At the moment, there is no planned tie-in to the Dark Ascension story.
Sounds awesome, so what’s holding me back from writing the comic?
-The eyes-
The eye tracking is causing characters to look the wrong way - even when you set them to TAI or myself invisible. I had frustrating moments where everyone look good, everyone’s eyes looked at the correct direction, but when I moved one NPC from “setpos x -519” to “setpos x -525” another NPC turned his eyes towards the moved NPC.
As a result, the shots don’t look good and easily takes a reader out from the story.
That sucks.Well let’s see those screenshots!
I. Concept ScreenShots
-Still working out the looks of main protagonist (trying out different hairstyles and outfits)
-Testing out lighting, locations, action shots with the character. Many of the locations were created from scratch or heavily, heavily modified from vanilla (especially lighting change).

II. Comic Story Test
This was the beginning part of the comic. It wasn’t until she arrives at the remote station that I realized the issues of posing NPCs and eye tracking. Also there were problems with the screen auto dimming depending on the light source and camera angle causing inconsistencies with pictures.
