Description

Found by the Imperials in collaboration with the East Empire Trading Company, this island cavern was large enough to construct a fortress that, over the course of ten years, became large enough to have entry points within the cavern itself, and on the other side of the island, where it seemed large enough for both a forest, alongside some open land suitable for farming. The fortress was additionally meant as a staging point for the Imperials to protect the area, and while it did serve this goal for a time, the noble with ties to the EEC gaining enough influence to almost use the fortress has his private hideaway, directing a generous amount of coin to adding far more extravagant features to his formerly spartan quarters, while leaving the Legion delegation to standard barracks and the like. The Imperials usage of the location, one that intended to keep a hidden, but watchful eye on their settlement of Raven Rock, made some confused as to a potential name. One among the entourage of the EEC, gave the suggestion of either The Raven's Eye, or simply Raven's Eye. The latter stuck, and the EEC produced a few silver and gold statuettes of Ravens as a result.

The location began to fall into disuse as the Imperial delegation were called back to Cyrodiil during the Oblivion Crisis, and it was not long after this, that said Noble left, later passing away while leaving little traces of his legacy upon history.

In 4E 178, a sailor by the name of Hiyake began cultivating ties with the EEC, between simple shipping jobs, and scouting missions looking for valuable materials. Within 3 years, she gained enough clout to make a deal with her employers for something much bigger than work - property. She learned of Raven's Eye when she first looked over some records within the EEC offices in Solitude, and she proposed a simple offer - she desired it in writing that the island containing the fortress, and all of it's assets and resources would be her property, with the deed to be handed off to anyone that she pleased. As it was not considered valuable by the Company, the paperwork was drawn up, and within a few months, she made her first venture to the island.

In late 4E 182, Hiyake made a visit to Raven Rock. Offering the settlement various resources at a decent price, she additionally offered protection - a few Selachii from her crew would take up postings to defend the settlement, and she would devote a ship to patrol the waters off the island to deter attacks.

Characters

Hiyake, TSF - A veteran of the Selachii's naval efforts during the Great War, she served under Akario, making a name for herself not only with her sword, but her skill in diplomacy. Where she may lack in skill herself, she would choose to cultivate alliances and relationships that bolster her ability to navigate through any waters, be it the seas, or the Courts of Kings or Jarls.

Doro, M - Though his background is uncertain, most are well aware of the circumstances that brought him into Hiyake's crew - catching her eye in a nearly lawless island city, and while it was some time before they embraced as more than friends, he would be the first in years to see her at her most vulnerable and yet, relaxed - as she has fallen asleep on his naked chest, not knowing if he would himself, wake.

Choga, F - Hiyake's younger sister.

Aozo, TSF - First meeting Hiyake under Akario's banner, the two formed a relationship very quickly. This connection brought them through various battles, and ensured that she chose the same path as Hiyake.

Murasa Shirogane, Alchemist, TSF - A young, but knowledgeable Selachii believed to be one of the best Alchemists of the era, even if her name has perhaps not reached the ears of many other races. Born shortly after the Great War, she traces her lineage to both the Shirogane and Kai families, but the so called "Draconic" blood of the Shirogane line is much stronger in her veins. Her name harkens to her appearance, the tone of her skin/scales being one of the rarest possible for Selachii.

Natsuko Kagasueki, TSF - One of the oldest in her family, she has a thirst for knowledge. Years of study have allowed her to amass knowledge of history, magic and nature, all of which she uses to protect herself, and those around her.

Chikara Kagasueki, TSF - One of the youngest in her family, she has desired adventure for years, especially having an interest in old ruins.

Emiko Kai, F - One of the youngest of her family, she has devoted her efforts to the preservation and protection of her people. To this end, she serves the Selachii Council as an Advocate, though it seems that she is loathe to seek a Council seat.

Koharu Hatoyama, F - A scholar who naturally, has taken to writing.

Momo Hatoyama, F - Possessing a background that can be considered cliche - a mystery that she has revealed to few, and Hiyake is among said few.

Hino, F - Beginning her life nearly stretched between two sides of Selachii society - that of the Council and their Admirals, she took upon herself a mixture of both, gaining the skills to navigate her way through a battlefield nearly unseen, alongside being able to gather information whilst those around her believe their secrets are safe. Under Hiyake's banner, she manages more day to day aspects, with the activities of her Captain's crew being at her behest, alongside keeping track of the money going in and out of the Captain's coffers.

Seiko, M - Possessing ties to both the Imperial Legion and the Blades, this Selachii served the Empire as a Battlemage, and protector of it's seating Emperor. He escaped the purge of the Blades by being forewarned of the Thalmor's intentions, and was far from their reach as a result.

Kurim, F - (W.I.P)

Nikko(M) & Ibuko(F) - Welcomed into Hiyake's Crew shortly after her acquisition of the Cove and it's fortress, this couple spent a few years building a relationship with their friends and allies, and soon became much more of a family upon their birth of their first child, Hikari.

Merida, Nord - The daughter of a blacksmith, she has taken to the trade herself.

Sheera, Orc - Far older than she appears, this Orc made it known to Hiyake upon this first meeting that she has ties to the Blades, which she was encouraged to embrace - donning attire that was common among her new Captain's crew, and in spite of her apparent blindness in one eye, she serves as the crew's navigator. Her sword has influences of her own race, and that of the Akaviri blades, being crafted by Merida.

Ravos, M - Born under the eyes of the Dunmer, this Selachii is a rare case - as he was born into slavery. In spite of at least twenty years of this, he escaped his captivity as soon as it was possible.

Miru, TSF - A Selachii that loves working with animals, managing a small group of food producing animals within the Cove.

Nichibotsu, F - Acting as both a seller of goods and a liaison to the other shopkeepers of Raven Rock, she occasionally makes trips to the Cove to bring Hiyake information.
