OK. You know how it goes. I was tweaking my Fallout 4 install. I'd started with Mator Smash, but couldn't get it to actually output a merge file. So I made a merge patch in Fo4 (Not supported! At My Own Risk!) and edited that, and that seemed to work. Thus emboldened, I went on to fix some "reference not found" errors by deleting the broken refs in Atomguard ... and the game crashes. So I restore from backup, and it still crashes.

So OK, I've been meaning to trim some modes for a while. I get rid of the cruft and start a new game. That works except I now can't feed I keep fiddling, but nothing gets my vamp his feeding back. So Eventually I think "sod it", uninstall everything and go back from Wrye Bash (long story) to MO2 where you can at least do this sort of thing rapidly.

Started a new game, zero mods. This is what I got.

I was almost tempted to keep it!

I'd say uninstall the game and reinstall the game. Your missing all of your textures

Or

Try and go on Steam, right click on F4 and hit propitiates, then go to local files and hit  verify game files and it should reacquire all missing textures ect

Sorted thanks. I set validate local files going and went to bed. 77 files failed to validate, about half of it CreationCrud that I'd deleted earlier.

I now have a working game, but Atomguard is still acting its goat, which is how I got into this mess in the first place.

I just thought the image was oddly pretty, in an Alien Dimension sort of way :)
