About This File

This is a collection of things (24) I found laying around the Wasteland and decided I wanted to stick up my butt. They are craftable at the chem station under the Utility category for 1 of whatever you want to stick up your butt (except baseball bat, it wouldn't let me set a weapon as the component, so 1 wood). They currently use Slot 56 (or 57, or 58) "Unnamed" so if unclaimed (by sexy mods) I plant the "this is the butt plug slot" flag here. Nexus modders have already claimed all the slots for non-sexy things.

[ Please stop asking about outfits and just go shopping at Nexus already ]

[ Current Version 112 (still, butt...) ]

  • 2018-06-26 (navi-v2) - a fix for the NAVI plug not giving the dual core perk and/or not switching the power frame after getting in. as before, grab the navi zip that is the same slot as your main potc file. you only need to update your navi file not the main file. if you already have one, and its not working, you might have to throw it away and craft a new one.

  • 2017-05-26 - Added optional files for NAVI Power Armor support. NAVI is a custom "feminine" shaped power armour which includes its own custom power armor frame. Normally you have to wear the special NAVI bodysuit underneath to tell the game to load the special frame which does not clip the armour. This optional file adds a 2nd Fusion Core (Plug - Fusion Core NAVI) which you can craft and will trick the game into loading the custom NAVI frame without having to wear the bodysuit, in addition to the normal Fusion Core plug perk. Install the one with the same slot number as the main PotC package you installed. NOTE: some outfits also have power armour frame keywords - for example, the vault suit, so that you see blue underneath. Rader outfits, Atom Cat outfits, and BOS outfits, also, have custom keywords. 9 times out of 10, the keyword on the outfit will win. Your choices are to go in naked, pick an outfit without the keywords, or remove the keywords from the outfit.

  • the feather duster plug is now enchanted for sneakity sneak granting the Dusting For Prints perk complete with Pip Boy and HUD animations.

  • added optional file for alternate feather duster textures - the black bunny.

[ Armor Mods ]

All plugs can be modded at the standard armor workbench. They have a SPECIAL mod slot where you can select a +1 of your choice for 10 Prewar Money.

[ Settings ]

Because we have no MCM for Fallout 4 you will have to change settings through the console. Don't worry, I have made it stupid easy. To do this you type:

set VariableName to Value

So you literally type the word "set", followed by the variable you want to change, the word "to", and the value you want.

[ Perk HUD animation and Messages ]

  • Dual Core - PlugsDualCoreGraphic (default 3)
  • Dusting For Prints - PlugsDustingGraphic (default 1)
  • To turn off both the animation and message:
  • set PlugsDualCoreGraphic to 0
  • To turn on the animation but turn off the message:
  • set PlugsDualCoreGraphic to 1
  • To Turn off the animation but turn on the message:
  • set PlugsDualCoreGraphic to 2
  • To turn on both the animation and message:
  • set PlugsDualCoreGraphic to 3

[ Installing ]

There are multiple files each version. Choose one and only one. Your choices are to use slot 56, 57, or 58, in the event you need to shuffle them around to get around backpack or any other conflicts.

There is an optional alternate texture file for the feather duster plug that I call The Black Bunny.

[ Updating ]

This mod should automatically detect when it has been updated and handle it itself.

However, because we have no MCM for Fallout 4 there are two batch files included: PlugsUpdate.txt and PlugsReset.txt. In the event something is not working right you can execute these from the game console like so:

  • bat PlugsUpdate
  • bat PlugsReset

The PlugsUpdate will perform the same series of events as the "Reset Mod" checkbox in my MCMs usually do, just reset and restart the main controller API quest. Use this if for some reason you cannot mod the plugs at your armor workbench.

The PlugsReset will reset all the settings to default.

[ Positioning ]

They will line up best with CBBE or any BodySlide preset which does not alter the position of the hips too much. They do work on males. Most of them are huge and are silly. The plugs themselves cannot really be body slid because they distort out of shape. See the Tweaking Position section for nerd details.

[ Tweaking Positioning ]

BS/OS is currently is rendering them about 14ft above the reference body head and if you attempt to fix it crazy shit will happen.

Most BodySlide bodies if you open them in Nifskope render below the floor while the skeleton renders above the floor and yet they are working fine. However, every time I manipulate these plugs in Outfit Studio their positions and rotations get super fucked. Right now if you open these plugs (Nuka Quantum and Bowling Pin) in Nifskope you will see they are above the floor, aligned with the skeleton (very unlike the armors Bodyslide makes), and they are also working. For the time being if this test with Quantum and Bowling Pin goes well I will redo the others I have already done and distribute their Max files until Nifskope, Bodyslide, 3DS Max, and Fallout 4 can agree.

For the time being I will continue to generate these using just Max since that is the only way I am getting working NIFs first try right now. I will not be generating BodySlide projects for them at this time. Currently I have spent about 4-5 hours per plug trying to get them to work with OS and failing, whereas the Bowling Pin where I only used Max took me about 4-5 minutes. Plus I believe the whole "mesh below the skeleton" thing, while working, is going to be discovered to be incorrect in the future when we know more.

It seems to be a BSSkin::Instance => BSSkin::BoneData thing if anybody cares to message me about my observations. It appears Bethesda/BS modeled things with the origin being at the neck, and then skinned them with the origin at the feet. You can see this effect by toggling off the Skin partition after importing into Max. I said fuck it and modeled and skinned it with origin at the feet. My theory is Nifskope shows the meshes below the floor because it is not applying skin transforms from BSSkin::BoneData like the game and Max are.

Fun Hilarious Observation and Potential Fact: BSSkin::BoneData appears to be applied to objects AFTER lighting is calculated. Here is a screenshot where OS had completely wtf'd me again (click then hit refresh, imgur is being a bitch) such that the plug was behind the neck and rotated ~270deg. If you look close enough you can see the lighting on the bowling pin has been applied as though it was still in her butt (shadow is on top of pin, while shadow is under the character) and then it was transformed /after/ that.
