Dilios300 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 As the title says, FO4 refuses to detect my mod setup. When I go in-game and try to load a save, I get the message that warns me about missing mods. Only problem is that it's ALL of my mods that are missing and I'm beyond confused as to why this is happening. I am using Mod Organizer 2.0.7 for Fallout 4 and if its relevant, I had updated my Windows 10 version to be up-to-date on the 13th (May 13th, 2018). I have already attempted the following : -- Checking to see if all the mods were enabled correctly (I'm pretty stupid, but not that stupid. ) -- Updating/Repairing the VC Redist ++ -- Deleting the DLCList.txt in AppData/Local/Fallout4 -- Validating the game files in Steam If anyone knows how to fix this, please give this deeply confused old war-horse a hand. If there is any questions or additional info you need, I'm more than willing to help.
Reepa7 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 That happened to me and what was wrong for me was.. I had Fallout4 installed on my D: drive while nexus was installed on my C:. reinstalled fallout to my C and everything worked
Dilios300 Posted May 18, 2018 Author Posted May 18, 2018 I have all my stuff on the C drive and I dont use NMM (if thats what you meant by "nexus").

It is working for me now.
Dilios300 Posted May 20, 2018 Author Posted May 20, 2018 Unfortunatly, I'm unable to see if this method works for me, because the recent Windows 10 update completely wrecked my pc's permissions and such. I cant install MO 2.1.3 to the proper folder or change the current installation. It says I need permission from myself, even though I am set to be an administrator with all privileges.
AngelPhoenix69 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 This happened to me as well, for me it was not detecting mods and made the camera upside down and super zoomed in. And I did to fix was the scorched Earth. What this is a complete uninstall of the game. To save any mods, use a flash drive and save what you can. Try uninstalling the game, don't touch your mod org. If that doesn't fix the issue, you will then need to uninstall your mods. This is the part that will suck. Microsoft needs to do more testing on their updates, every single update has been worse then the previous one.
Dilios300 Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 "Microsoft needs to do more testing on their updates, every single update has been worse then the previous one." Ha. No arguments there. This is the last time I install any update from Microsoft, I promise you. There has also been some other developments. The game automatically crashes on startup (before the intro scene) without any errors, so I dont know whether or not I fixed the mod-less-ness issue. As for saving my mods in a flash drive, I dont know the kinda setup you have, but my mods wont fit into 8 flash drives....
Guest Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 do you updated the game as well or just the windows? do you still have Plugins.txt file in: AppData\Local\Fallout4\plugins.txt and mods are enable there ? as for permission maybe you are logged in as user, to give permission to yourself as a user right click that folder for ex the (modmanager) - properties - security tab - click on users(yourPCname) - edit - then check the boxes - full control modify write apply - ok and try again to update the mod manager
Dilios300 Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 I only updated windows The Plugins.txt is blank. I'm not trying to update anything. I dont know why you thought I was, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Dilios300 Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 I was having a bit of lag. Thats why the message was processed twice. However, there are no mods in the Data folder, I'm using Mod Organizer 2 remember? And if your not using a mod manager of any kind -- which suggests a lack of experience in modding and is extremely un-recommended -- you probably are not going to be able to help me. As for your suggestion, I've already tried to copy and paste my modlist from the plugins.txt within Mod Organizer to the one found in AppData/Local/Fallout4

Strange. I did not mention about deleting anything. All I did was to advice upgrading MO2. Oh well.

(mods came first then the "mods-managers") not vice versa. "and if i probably not going to be able to help", well sorry i won't try to help you again. good luck.
AWP3RATOR Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I am an MO2 user. My Steam files are not installed in the default location (they are on a different drive than the OS) and I am running MO2 (2.1.3) in instanced mode. This is important. The fact that you say you plugins.txt file is empty seems to generally indicate that either you are looking at the incorrect one (there will be several) and/or you are not using MO2 in instanced mode, and running it native with bad paths set up. For whatever reason you have, and it sounds like it's configuration related, MO2 is not initializing your mod list and merging it in to the game at runtime. The files found here: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Fallout4 are the default FO4 files. When running an MO2 setup, these files are not used. Instead, the files/paths MO2 users were set during initial setup, but can be referenced in the settings. For example, my actual profile settings are at this path: E:\Games\ModOrganizerFO4\profiles\Main (this where my actual plugins.txt and other files are located) To verify with MO2, open the spanner icon and click over to Paths. You should see: (or similar for your install)
Dilios300 Posted May 21, 2018 Author Posted May 21, 2018 @Gamoholik Thats the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a very long time, my friend. Any modder out there will tell you manually installing and managing mods is beyond stupid. Also, dont mistake my tone for hostility. Just not the diplomatic type, is all. @AWP3RATOR Yeah, my directories are setup like that. I am running an instance of MO2 and not native, but your definitely right. The plugins.txt that MO2 uses is fine though. It's listing all my mods perfectly. What do you make of this?
Dilios300 Posted May 23, 2018 Author Posted May 23, 2018 I've fixed my issue. Fallout 4 is now running fine. I fixed the issue by creating a new profile in MO2 (and I also upgraded to MO2 version 2.1.3 just in case).
