FINALLLY FIXED IT:

My skyrim simply was not up to date.. i was running 1.5.23 instead of 1.5.39 and skse 2.0.6 instead of 2.0.7

After updating both, the bug is gone. I don't know how it is related but it somehow fixed this hours long headache. Thanks for your time guys.

Hey guys, I am having issues getting CBBE to work in mod organizer 2 2.1.2 (latest version).

First, I noticed the body (cbbe) was not loading in Skyrim, I did try to fix it for many hours,

Trying to see if another mod was conflicting with CBBE's textures/meshes: No

Is something overwriting CBBE: No

I tried backdating BSAs in MO's settings: No

Tried disabling mods one by one then loading in-game to see if the body loaded, went down to 2 mods enabled: SMIM (better meshes mega pack) and CBBE lastest version fresh from Nexusmods/SkyrimSE. And it still did not work. disabling SMIM and keeping only CBBE finally worked.

Obviously, SMIM doesn't overwrite any files from CBBE, as ModOrganiser confirm.

Final test: enabling all my mods back and placing CBBE as priority 3 (first after the 3 unmanaged DLCs): Works.

So, it actually works but I don't want to put my body related files in such a weird priority position and I feel there is an underlying issue there

for the screenshots, don't consider the fact that some other mods are enabled, disabling them was done and did not affect the result

I did mod both Oblivion and Original Skyrim for 3 years+ and am quite tech savy, this bug is beyond me.

Thanks a bunch for your time!

Not sure if this is your problem but both MO and Vortex will install mods like CBBE and Bodyslide in the wrong directory if it's in any sub folders like data.  In the case of Vortex, if there are any files that match the vanilla game's file structure like textures or meshes, Vortex will figure out what the base path is and put things in the right directory but for mods that rely entirely on 3rd party tools it won't.  For MO you generally have to do the manual install and make sure everything is in the right place.

I'm currently using Vortex but a workaround I used for CBBE and Bodyslide was to just create a mesh folder in the top directory and put a dummy mesh file in it just so MO would think it was a legit mod.

I don't think it is the issue, i loaded a cmd window through MO and looked at the files, textures and meshes are located in the right folder and actually should load properly. the issue is that they don't unless i put CBBE in priority 3
