khumak Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Did we just get a stealth SSS update? The VR edition mentions it but the SE version doesn't... 1 may 2018 Published ENBSeries 0.341 for TES Skyrim SE. Fixed game shaders to remove limitation of ldr, i didn't notice earlier that game is forcing ldr. Changed code of animated stars to make them use green color instead of alpha for detecting stars, but it doesn't really fix incompatibility with custom textures of stars and galaxy, so if will be complains about it, i revert back to alpha channel. 1 may 2018 Published ENBSeries 0.340 for TES Skyrim VR. Added clouds edge effect. Added environment parameters like fog, directional lighting, ambient lighting, specular, all of them cost performance when watching at many objects, so original object processing turn them off, as usual. Added parameters for tweaking objects which have subsurface scattering without making separation between bodies, vegetation, eyes. Fixed clouds and moons to allow them be fully black. Changed animated stars for using green color to detect stars instead of alpha channel to avoid issues with custom textures of the stars and galaxy. Fixed saturation of colors in game shaders, which visible when increasing direct lighting or other environmental parameters, but this came at cost of longer mod start time. With this version existing Skyrim SE presets will work almost equal in Skyrim VR.
Guest Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 No, that was done for SE back in December. It's not what it sounds like.
DykkenTomb Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Patiences, mate. SSS will come into play at some point.. For now use this mod. It'll have to work for now.

Interesting. Hadn't seen that before but I just tried it and so far it looks good. Will have to see how it deals with different lighting conditions, the change is fairly subtle. I'm using ELFX + ELE + Vivid Weather + Darker Nights + Skyrim Re_Engaged ENB with SSAO off in the SE engine but on in ENB. I'm not seeing the orange glow that some people commented about.

Quote Published ENBSeries 0.343 for TES Skyrim SE. Added subsurface scattering same as in mod for old Skyrim, but because don't have albedo it look a bit different. Epidermal SubSurfaceScattering has been added to DX11 ENB for Skyrim SE!
khumak Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 I just tried the new binary and using a skin texture that has SSS enabled I get a shimmering bronze line that follows the shadows. Not sure what causes that, maybe the albedo effect Boris mentioned? The ENB preset I'm using has not been tuned for the new binary yet so maybe it's tweakable enough to remove that effect, otherwise I suspect new skin textures might be needed.
Guest Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 Isn't that the same old bronze shine problem from Oldrim? I believe that means your skin texture needs a subsurface map (could be wrong though).

If I use one that has SSS enabled I get the bronze shimmering. If I use one with it disabled I don't. Maybe it doesn't need to be enabled in the texture now that it's enabled in the ENB? I don't know enough about the way it works to know. It looks fine with SSS disabled in the texture. The skin looks a bit shinier than I would expect in shadows but that is probably tweakable in the ENB.

Been working with the new Vixxen ENB which came out. I like it's Ruby and snapdragon feel. I'm a huge fan of snapdragon since it's has may different settings. The skin looks really good with Mature installed with UUNP and CBBE. I'll keep dabbling around with different settings to see if I can get any results.

He updated the binary again today without changing the version number so you may want to download a fresh copy. He added the albedo effect that was in Oldrim's version and he fixed a bug that was causing lighting to affect the entire room. Looks really nice now.
