this might be the wrong forum, but, I cant enchant

basically, I download the jewled butt plugs, your meant to be able to enchant them, so I thought how about a "plug-plug of water-breathing" . steped up to the table, clicked, the menu opened, then shut down again (almost like my character stepped away). the same thing happons when I try to cook anything.

Dispite having soul-gem oven installed, it says I cant produce gems (I was playing a teen-age Moni, then started a new game with a Norn, still cant produce gems)

My game has 513 mods and 253 active plugins and runs like a charm so no, you don't have too many. Or at least, one should be able to pin point problems with this amount without pulling their scalp off.

 

What mod manager do you use?

Do you still have saves from before you installed Jewelled butt plug?

Are you sure its this mod that causes the problem? Is it a complex mod or just an armor mod? If the latter, then you should look else where for the problem.

Check for overwritten files that are not just meshes or textures files. 

Regarding Soul Gem oven, where does it tell you that you can't produce gems? Check the MCM if race compatibility issues.

It sounds as if something is doing something with soul gems. Soulgem Oven would be the prime suspect. Do you have UIExtensions installed? I couldn't see it but it is required for SGO.

 

You haven't got an excessive number of mods.

 

Just out curiousity, what mod does  helgenrebuilt.esp come from? I tried searching for it but only Helgen Reborn comes up.

There are many issues with the way you apparently mod Skyrim then. If you want to mod even anything remotely close to properly, you'd have to do way better.

 

Firstly, regarding SoulGem... I've never had this message before with soul gem oven, however at least it does TELL you that you can't, which is good. Because it means it's working as intended. You either: didn't enable your character to be inseminated in some MCM menu / SGO menu. Or there is another mod that uses SoulGemOven and actively prevents you from making gems. So is it Tonni or Terri? You're confusing here. (check the SGO menu which you open with the SGO power in magic)

 

Anyways its not good that you don't keep back ups of your saves. I, knowing that if I'm going to do a long run while installing/uninstalling different mods on the way, I'd keep back ups of many of my saves. Plus, I us MO which I recommend 1000 times over NMM, and I can have this https://gyazo.com/4c7e456d24b9aeefea53d947602e888b. I can easily tell what esp each save had activated by simply clicking on them.

 

And YES, installing mods that overwrite each other ESPECIALLY SCRIP HEAVY ONES, DURING A PLAY THROUGH, is SUPER DANGEROUS and it WILL irreversibly corrupt saves; destabilise game; destroy your life.

Don't be sad however if you find out your save is completely corrupted due to that (you can try using save cleaner BTW https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/), I'm sure most of people here that've modded intensively like us have had these problems and either:

 

1.got lucky and somehow fixed the problem like a pro surgeon

2.reinstalled everything multiple times (like me)

 

So yeah, since SGO DOES affect enchanting it could very well be SGO causing all your problems. Double triple check that. Both on their forums and also in-game with the in-game options. 

 

And again, I recommend MO over NMM.

I can EASILY check and revert/fix bad conflicts in MO because if you use MO, you'd never physically overwrite any files. For any mod installed with MO will be kept intact in their own separate directory. Plus I can do this https://i.gyazo.com/d6f834056373123b911295e50ec8e447.png

i've un-installed the game and deleated the directory just to make sure it's clean and re-installed, I'm probably doing to have to install soul gem oven and CCAS, just for the soul gem start location (near an enchanting table), save, then instill mods one at a time to see which one is stopping me.

 

As for Tonni or Terri, their both character I've played, everytime I install a mod that needs a clean save file I just create a new character, Tonni, Terri, Chris, Hannah, Alison, Sue, etc. I just forgot which one I was using.

 

Hopefully it's just a  case of one mod over writing another mods files, and not soul gem oven (which considering soul gem oven allows you to create soul gems, not being allowed to use them for enchanting does seem a bit pointless)

Triple penta check the in-game settings and menus first though, i warned ya. (As I recall properly SGO also affects how well you can enchant or sth, so maybe it conflicted with another mod that does that)
