Narakesh Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Hey Guys, I just updated my FNIS from 6_something to 7_2 and i'm getting CTD's when i try and install the Creature Pack. This is also on a brand new game so i'm really stuck trying to figure out the problem. I'm installing it using MO (which has always worked before). Any ideas what could be causing it? Here's my mod order. Spoiler # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. Narakesh Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Okay turns out MNC and the creature pack was causing crashes because of Shout Like A Virgin. It loads up fine when i uninstall that mod and run skyrim without running FNIS (stuck in the T Pose). Once i ran FNIS, it kept CTDing. It then loads in when i disable MNC. Very odd, any ideas why?

The answer here is obvious seeing your Load order, no harm meant. To be sure you have followed carefully these various steps - which I am inclined to doubt, sorry for that, and before going any further, here is what can be proposed to you in view of what you posted in this thread: First Point: Seems you simply downloaded and activated a long list of mods without having taken the time to carefully check for yourself what are the prerequisites, nor to respect their loading hierarchy yet given by their authors on the descriptive pages: - prerequisite mods that have to be loaded before the concerned mod - others mods, imperatively to be loaded at the end of the list under penalty of serious conflicts Seriously, it is no easier to handle mods conflicts due to a bad Load order than in MO, but I do agree: it takes time to focus on this task. Second Point: Have you by any chance checked your list of activated plugins with TES5Edit? It has this very useful function of pointing out inconsistencies in most areas. Once these are corrected and set, launch LOOT in MO (not the "Sort'" button from MO) to sort your Load order. The result will be with a 90 to 95% margin success based on the datas provided by expert users, you can do the rest yourself by editing the plugin's Metadata and priorities in LOOT. Third Point: If you had read the comments of the authors and other users on the descriptive pages of the mods, you could have for most of them seen that:- some plugins can be incompatible between them, ex: Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm and Skyrim Project Optimization Full Version.esp, use the esm without the esp, not both- some mods need to appear last in your Load order and not respecting that is at the risk of seeing your game to crash at one time or another because of conflicts, I think here about Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp. This is another warning given by the author of the mod which you have not taken care to respect. Please, read the descriptions and comments freely given - seriously: why would they exist except for the sole purpose of helping other people? Fourth Point: About FNIS v7.2:- check that you have downloaded the correct version for MO.- FNIS.esp must be loaded before FNIS_PCEA2.esp and as high as possible in the list of your activated plugins, after SkyUI.esp and UIExtensions.esp- do not forget to generate your FNIS Output file each time you load, deactivate, modify, move a mod depending on FNIS, such as animations, etc ... Fifth Point: Have you cleaned the Skyrim Master files with TES5Edit? Just asking you to be sure you've done it.Sixth Point: There is nothing easier to do with MO than to take advantage of its flexibility: - deactivate all your plugins in the MO Main left pane excepted Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, HearthFires.esm, Dragonborn.esm, Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp, Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm, as they are good to go in your current mods list - change their install order and reactivate them one after the other, wait for MO to indicate you by its dedicated symbols if there is a conflict, check with TES5Edit if you have none major conflict like a missing master or requirement, correct the error if necessary, validate and then start LOOT. Check in live with your game, if there is a problem, go back to MO and fix it. Do this for each group of Master (esm) and related plugins (esp). And test your game in a long run, it will be the best guarantee for you that everything runs smoothly. Seventh (and last) Point: Once all your plugins are loaded without major conflicts, errors, freezes, CTDs, make a Merge patch for resolving minor conflicts - with your heavy Load order this step is practically unavoidable, and last but not the least ... create your Bashed patch.
Grey Cloud Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 And to that I would add that: You appear to have mods which do the same or similar things, e.g. Newmilller piercings and mmpiercing parts. You also have magicnipples which will be accessing the same body part. You have RacemenuMorphs CBBE and UNP installed.

Thanks for the detailed list and for pointing out that it's my load order and not a mod. I guess my laziness of just running Loot and hoping for the best caught up with me. I'll go redo my load order, check the mods with tes5edit and slowly re-activate them and then check load orders if i get CTD's. Once that's done i'll make a merge patch and then a bashed patch. I must have just been lucky that my mod list had been barely holding together all this time. Thanks again!

Oh okay i yeah in hindsight i should have guessed that having many mods that do the same thing would be a dumb idea. So is it bad when mods access the same body part?

So is it bad when mods access the same body part? It is generally bad when two or more mods utilise the same anything. e.g. two mods trying to alter Whiterun. Best to choose one and go with it.

I must have just been lucky that my mod list had been barely holding together all this time. Thanks again! Happy to help you, but please, don't go so quickly into conclusions. I never wrote you that the problem don't come from one of your mods, I mentioned the fact that at the view of your Load order the answer is obviously to reorganize the mods, do not confuse the terms. How to see in a list of plugins as lines of text and without having access to your complete mod archive containing the description of the said mod that you did not download an incompatible file/version for your game? It's a little hard, don't you find? We are not psychics ... or at least, not that I know. On the other hand, one point I would like to stress again is the version of FNIS v7.2 you downloaded: the version planned to work with Mod Organizer is found in the optional files, FNIS Behavior 7_2 32bit or FNIS Behavior 7_2 XXL 32bit, be sure to have taken the corresponding version. If you do not read the descriptions or do not understand them correctly depending on your native language, you can easily go wrong. And please don't download SSE files, some SLE mods may work for SSE but not the contrary.
