Jappa123 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Hello guys i just wanted to ask you can i somehow add vanilla/cbbe rain wet texture effect to 8K Realistic Skin Textures https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28809 asking because when its rain weather armor/clothes are wet/shiny which is completely understandable but body textures stays normal so is there anyway to do it? Thanks for help!
AWP3RATOR Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Are you just looking for the 8k body textures to show shine/gloss when the player is wet? The files appear to be set up as CBBE or vanilla files are - with slightly modified (higher values) on the specular override. This should make the specular map stronger when the player is wet. Below is the spec map.... it's pretty even, not a "high gloss" mapping as it is. Vs this one from FSM "wet" or this one, also from FSM "moist" this is closer to the 8k spec map
Jappa123 Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 Oh i just saw that link is not working here textures is use right now: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28809 and like i said there is not shine/gloss effect when the player is wet and i would like to add it somehow thats basically all it want to do. i really liked default cbbe wet effect
Guest Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 does that mod has custom materials for the body? if yes check if the materials has this: template/SkinTemplate_Wet.bgsm next to Root Material Path or check if the body.nif has template/SkinTemplate_Wet.bgsm click on BSLightingshaderproperty and next to Wet Material should have template/SkinTemplate_Wet.bgsm you could make it permanent wet if you play with the normal (n.dds) in photoshop for ex. change the brightness save replace and test (make a back up first)

So there is not way to do it only when player is wet? To be honest im not really interested to make it permanent : (

Ok so after hour of testing i find out that other material called basehumanfemaleskin.bgsm were changing wet effect, its not what i was looking for but its better than before, Thanks for help!

AWP3RATOR Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 The 8k texture pack includes a new basehumanFemaleskin.bgsm file, which overrides. That material file is pointing at a new Skin_Template_Wet.bgsm file included with the mod as well: 8k mod wet template is overriding a few settings, but otherwise looks good. I found that the mod template's wetness override to be more subtle than vanilla or CBBE in-game.

Damn i'm confused So i downloaded Material Editor from nexus and which file should i edit Skin_Template_Wet.bgsm or basehumanFemaleskin.bgsm ? I tried to edit basehumanFemaleskin.bgsm and looks like thats what i was looking for, just need to play around settings a bit
Guest Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 or you could just simply delete the materials that comes with that mod (or cut&paste on your desktop to have a back up) and the game will use the default materials (vanilla).

This is probably the better approach - because this WILL overwrite the vanilla record, or whatever other wet template you may have had installed. Either remove it prior to installing (NMM) or simply delete it and refresh MO2's interface.
