Can anyone tell me how to alter this mod?

I've just discovered the hedonism mod and I quite enjoy it.  But the absolute worst thing about it that is practically unbearable is the fact that if you're defeated, you're teleported to a random location anywhere in your game, even new world quest mods like Falskaar.. The mod author hasn't posted anything in almost 5 months so I'm wondering if anyone knows how to edit this mod so either you don't get teleported ANYWHERE, or to just disable the defeat feature all together? https://www.loverslab.com/topic/86837-hedonism/?page=2&tab=comments#comment-2164283

 

Or if you have any suggestions for a mod that has similar features that works with the various SL mods, I'd appreciate that too!
