Crash on save, TMP saves created.

Sooo... I started a new play-trough with around 120 mods all cleaned and sorted. I use MO. Played for about 30 hours with no problems except some random crashes after 4-5 hours of playing (happens to me sometimes even in vanilla skyrim so i have no problem with this). But now im on the quest about capturing Odahviing and im stuck because every time i try to save game it simply crashes creating TMP file instead of ess. Happens both with auto and quick saves just as with normal saves. Crashes on cell change too but it's probably because of auto save. Cleaned the saves with SaveTool. No effect except 1 more save before crashing again. Also Odahviing keeps changing his model to generic skyrim dragon model short before he lands. Disabled all mods altering dragons models. Still happening.

All I can suggest is to try disabling more mods and continue testing.  This is the first time I've ever heard of crashing on save and I've heard them all.  Very strange.

I have the crash on save now and then, there is a fix for it providing you did not delete of overwrite your earlier save, best is to always keep the first few saves of the game, If your game was running for 30 hours fine before that, then is has nothing to do with your load order, do this:

 

Load earlier save

Then hard save on earlier save (press ESC then click save)

once you have saved open console and type "player.kill" without the parenthesizes

once your PC falls to the ground dead, press Esc key while you are dead and load the save that has the bug in it

once that save loads again use console and player.kill again, this time letting yourself die and the game reloading the save 

then save again

 

ALSO: before doing any of this , remove the tmp file

 

Try not to overwrite a lot of saves, in case this happens again hope this helps
