Manly5000 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Hey all, I started creating animations from scratch and have managed to create a package and get them to work in game, but I can't seem to get the mouth to move. I'm using the full rigged blender model with tongue, boobs etc. In blender it seems to work just fine but in-game the mouth stays completely closed and won't move an inch! I've tried moving or rotating just about every mouth-oriented bone there is on the rig. Do I need to do something outside of blender? Can someone give me a quick how-to on mouth movements? I have the "suppress lip sync" event still in the clip. Thanks!
R-Lo Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Hey! All you need to do is to not remove the clip event censor in s4pe, This unlocks the b_jaw bone and movement will now show in game The bones named CAS_ ... won't show in game so leave these alone, if you've altered them at all then you'll have to backtrack a little, With the clip event censor removed, the jaw stays fixed and will automatically sync with sound events, If you have the clip censor active, the jaw movement you've made in blender will be present in the game, It's also possible to set the censor to activate midway through an animation which then resets when the clip loops

I left it like it appears in the attached screenshot. I tried moving all of the lip bones and other non-CAS bones but the mouth just stays shut in-game. The tongue works fine but not the mouth. Any ideas?
Manly5000 Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 Nevermind, I figured it out. I didn't notice the actual "Jaw" bone until just now, before I only saw the CAS_Jaw one. Working like a charm now!! Thanks R-Lo.
R-Lo Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Your welcome! I'm not an expert but it looks like you're using s4studio, I'm unsure if that works but I maybe wrong, Try adding the sound in s4pe instead by choosing the relevant clip and selecting the "grid" option located the bottom of the screen, Generally this is the last thing I'll do after adding to the package and editing the stbl files and XML

I’m new to animating, is the lips suppression something that has to be added for each individual clip for the animation in s4pe? for example: I have 3 actors in my animation, would I need to add lip suppression to the 3 CLIP files in s4pe? <Recalculating...... >
ThatJarredFellow Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Sorry for once reviving this thread but I'm posing my sim in Blender and wanted her to open her mouth, in Blender it works just fine but in-game the mouth doesn't open. Do I have to do the same thing as R-Lo described to Manly5000? Thanks in advance!
