joefantana Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 i just reinstalled skyrim and now there are boxes all over , i have no idea what might be causing it. please take a look, any help is appreciated ;D thank you. also sorry i don't know how to do a spoiler tab thing.
srayesmanll Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Ooohh, whenever I've seen something like that, it's usually been a video card issue (overheated or going bad, or both). Usually not a good sign. However, since there are a lot of video enhancement mods (ENB and that ilk), it (hopefully) is related to one of those. Posting a load order may help - normally it's a good idea to do as per the request in the stickied post in Technical Support (http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=10682). Try disabling all mods and restart to see if the issues continue.
gregathit Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Yea, artifacts like that are never a good sign. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card and you might even crack open your case and clean it out, while making sure all the fans and such are operating correctly.
caperpp Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 OH GOD! PLEASE GIVE YOUR COMPUTER BIG HUGS! IT HAS A COLD! UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS TO FIX HER COLD!
joefantana Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 drivers are all up to date at least according to the device manager, the card is barely 2 months old, and it's a clean skyrim install no mods applied > ->
srayesmanll Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Do you have any other games to test it with? If it's a hardware issue, it should crop up in other games as well (not always, depends on the game). If you have no mods installed, then frankly it's got to be hardware. You said device manager says it's up to date, but I would go directly to nVidia/AMD (which chipset your card is based on) and get the most current drivers for your card from there. Once you have the drivers, do a clean install of the drivers (uninstall your current drivers, reboot, then install the new drivers you downloaded). If the problem persists, you may have just been unlucky and got a defective card. You might want to post your machine specs (and especially the video card info), someone here may know of a particular issue with that setup. Knowing the video card may jog somebody's memory about a known issue. Again, try a different game first and see if you get it. And like gregathit said, crack open the case and clean it out, could just be a bad case/card fan causing it to overheat.
Ark of Truth Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Turn off anti-aliasing and it should go away. I have that issue but my graphics drivers were to high believe it all not. If its already off, turn it on.
