SE Compatibility Tracking (Apr 23)

Recommended Posts

I've updated to give a new status to mods that are (were) marked X only because they're out of date with Skyrim. All of these should give little [ extra ] bits indicating why they're orange, so you can look at individual ones and mostly know at a glance if they're fine for your particular setup, but I don't have any interest in maintaining a history of exactly what combinations of game and SKSE and whatever each mod was or was not compatible with.

But after things have settled down and most mods are caught up, and when that summary at the top goes away again, the list will revert back to marking them with Xs.

Am I the only one that actually bought the full version of AE?  While still protecting my 1.5.97 game folder, of course... lol

If I ever buy CC content I feel I should give money to the creator of every mod I use, I just don't feel right giving money to a billion dollar corporation for subpar mods while getting superior stuff from your average Joe for free.

i havent updated skyrim sense AE came out, should i just wait until most of the mods on here are caught up? or is SE separate from AE? because iwas thinking of just waiting a few months before updating.

The AE you can buy is just a Creation Club DLC that happened to come out alongside the latest SE update, which is what actually broke the mods. Most of the mods I play with are working (well enough), especially now with the JContainers pre-release, so you probably won't have too much longer to wait on the rest of the list.

Nothing new, no improvent, no interest, new bugs, destroys setup.

Why update ? Just because luring advertiisment, all others have it, go through all debugging, optimizing, tuning again ?

Difficult to resist, isn't it ?

If your aim is fiddling around with setups, there are better ways. Sometimes, reading comments, I wonder to have a glance onto the

payroll. For me  NOWAY

SE is now LE boat.

I also bought AE. I first downloaded fix game registry key for MO2, cloned my SSE folder and renamed it "Skyrim Special Edition Modded". I then had to edit some MO2 ini files to point it to the correct game but that was well worth the trouble.

Now whenever I launch the game (or bodyslide or anything) from MO2 I'm greeted with a window asking me if I want to fix the game registry key. That way I have one instance for AE and one for pre-AE without any game breaking issue.

The only "issue" I'm having is FNIS complaining about "Expected generator path: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition MODDED\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users", but it still works just fine.

I'm also worried about launching pre-AE whenever there's an update on steam, I'm not sure how the interaction would go or if there's a chance steam downloads the update in the wrong folder.

Except for a few youtubers showcasing the new material, yes. I have no need of added armours until they get a 3BA skimpy patch.

Guilty as charged. Still a better deal than having bought creation club 'content' as it released though. :classic_angel:

And I figured in a year give or take plenty of mods will require AE as a baseline.

I picked it up because the extras seemed fun, but I also knew I'd be busy with school during November and December with not a lot of time to start a Skyrim playthrough. So more than enough time for the mod updates to begin rolling out.
