I am searching for a simple cap mod that won't replace or remove my character's hair. I was surprised when the only thing I found was oblivion mod and judging by description it also replace hair.

Hat caps hoods and helmets are usually made without hairs in them. When you wear them they remove your hair because they have the hair slot selected for them in the .esp and nifs.

 

Hat caps hoods and helmets have to be made to work with the hair that you are using otherwise the hair will clip out of them which is the reason why most just set it up to where the hair is removed on equip.
