Zombie textures or tattoos for NPCs

Any suggestions are welcome!

 

I'm looking to make some of the NPCs in my game into zombies but I can only think there's two ways to do this:

 

1. Find a zombie skin replacer and switch the mod on and off when needed

2. Use equipable meshes and texures using slavetats or something

 

 

I haven't come close to finding anything really, I found a couple of abandoned projects from a few years ago and Undead Fx which isn't really what I'm looking for.
