Question about Hvirus.esp

So this is the first time I have run useing the Hvirus.esp and I'm not entirely certain it worked the way it was intended. The issue I had was that during my very first encounter (with a virgin NPC by the way)I got the virus, which seemed odd. So I reloaded and went for a different virgin with the same results. Accepting my fate, I then went for seconds, however even though I was freshly infected it had already driven my fatigue so low, sex never got out of stage 1. I'm using Pk extender so I go through the 3 foreplays, hit R, sex begins and then promptly ends. I disabled Hvirus.esp and the problem vanished. So I just wonder was it working as intended or what?

Oh another quirk was when I had sex while wearing an enchanted ring that gave me 1000 to endurance and fatigue (not the SuperSPring in my LO)it instantly killed my sexpartner, that too ended with the removal of Hvirus.esp. Thanks for any thoughts on this, don't really need Hvirus but it would be nice if it wasn't so unbalanced.

You can get treatment by a witch at anvil {I think...} I didn't remember exactly, translated it a while back and i have recall/attention span of a 5 year old... You can be the carrier even if having sex with virgin. Many mods like LoversLoveJuices modify the probability of a virgin by resetting/overwriting xcount of PK system.. Maybe not virgin at all, i hav e this activated... Didn't have balance issues. I think it also have some gestation period in which you are not aware of being infected. It's use is redundant with use of LoversStupid NPC which have Hvirus system built in, Loja's bread is one of the cure for H-virus. try the latest version,also use lovers set flags. If you have problems let me know. I will try to fix this plugin if it have issues...

Thanks for your reply. I don't think I made my concerns clear based on your reply. After applying Hvirus.esp, I turned to the nearest NPC who was a virgin, had sex, instantly got a virus, had a second round of sex which failed to complete due to the instant death of the NPC, presumably due to the virus. That makes the "incubation" period less than a minute. Are you saying this is typical behaviour for Hvirus.esp? Or perhaps suggesting I was a carrier, which wouldn't explain the "got disease" message during sex.

I ran with StupidNPC(HVirus included version) prior to this install, had sex some 2000 times with anything that moved(even got raped by a mudcrab,Damn!) and never once got a virus despite a high probability setting.

Needless to say I now run with neither Hvirus or StupidNPC installed, Hvirus due to the rediculous encounter, and StupidNPC due to the stupid NPCs causing all kinds of quest related problems. I only wanted Hvirus to add some real life type risk factor, not a prohibative one.

If someone would be kind enough to say whether this was typical behaviour for Hvirus or not, and maybe have some suggestions on how to correct it if not, that would be great, thanks.

Yes, this plugin adds a "random" chance to catch the nasty virus. It is completely random from whom you can catch it and\or when. You can get get cured by eating bread from the randomly spawned baker that wanders around in most cities. They sell "donkey bread" which will cure you. You can play it safe by going and buying some and then keeping it in your inventory just in case you "catch" the virus.

 

As to how to tweak the settings for the random "chance" of catching it. Just pop open the esp file using the Construction Set and look for the script that controls things. I don't know which one it is so I can't help you further than that.

I believe HVirus can also be passed down from parent to any children which care born. So when that child grows up in will also have the virus even though it is a virgin still. Carrier of sorts.

Right, thanks again Greg. But isn't the Baker part of the StupidNPC plugin? I don't run that anymore so I haven't seen any Bakers this time out.

So I am assuming then that the behaviour described is normal then? Including the resulting instant kill while infected? I guess I'll have to continue without it then, getting hit with a murder like that isn't worth it.

Yes the baker is part of lovers stupid and the h virus is also an optional addon for lovers stupid (that is why h virus always came in the lovers stupid download). While you might be able to play h virus without lovers stupid it would be pretty risky as there would be no way for you to get a cure for the disease otherwise.

 

Apparently h virus does add a vendor in Anvil that sells a cure for the disease so you "might" be able to play h virus without lovers stupid enabled. I have not tested this myself as I have no interest in the h virus plugin.
