WCSC Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 I'm hoping to get some advice. I've had a install of skyrim and mods for over a year and a half now and I got frustrated of all the issue of mod installs and uninstalls, CTD's. I'm going to finally install a fresh copy and trying to find out since there have been so many changes and so many things that have become obsolete, what I don't need. I'm mostly just looking to install SexLab SL Creatures Defeat Player gets Necro'd Horrible Harassment, Aroused Dripping While aroused Slave Tats death Fre Camera XP32 Max Skel Extended Violens - Kill Move Mod Body Slide SL Loader & Animations HD Heels HD Gladiator Heels KS Hair/HDT All in one Amazing world of Bikini Armor All in one animated Vagina 4.0 (UNPB Body with jiggles, LeyBody, sweat, High Tone Muscle tex) I love a lot of followers Is there anything above I listed that I should stay away from that can conflict with mainly Defeat (Which is my primary mod I like to use)? Do I NOT need to install the steam High Resolution Packs? (I've read a few times that those may not be needed now, their outdated?) Should I install SexLab mods first (FNIS, XP32), then my body stuff like All in one Animated Vagina, hair, armor, followers etc? Or does it not make a difference? Sorry for the noob lame questions, I'm just trying to get it stable and omit things that I may not need My system is a i5-4690K CPU @3.5 Ghz with 16 GB RAM, and 1060 GTX CArd
AWP3RATOR Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Couple of random thoughts, not really connected to one another here... You mentioned you are starting with a clean install. I'm assuming you were using Nexus Mod Manager? Consider switching to Mod Organizer. It's superior in pretty much every way - but most importantly, it doesn't touch your game directory. All mods are installed outside the game directory and merged in on load. This allows you to run all kinds of profiles for different play-throughs, easily try out new mods, prioritize on the fly, etc. I tend to try to stay away from mods that come with lots of scripts that do a lot of scanning - they always seem to bog down high populated areas (like Whiterun) or cause CTDs on cell changes. I don't personally get the High Resolution Texture packs as I pretty much replace everything anyway, with my own preference texture mods - you don't need them, they aren't required. I tend to install my mods in an order that makes sense to me: Base game - meshes & textures Base game - weather, lighting, etc. Base game - sound, ambiance, and immersion Base game - gameplay enhancements Body replacers and textures Skeletons, jiggly bits, etc. Animations (non sexy-time) Armor, Clothing, and weapons SexLab stuff Generally speaking on the above install order point, if you read up on the SexLab and various SexLab related mod install isntructions - they will almost always note that some body replace is a requirement and should come before the SexLab mod. There are oakish mod recommendations and install guides here on LL, Nexus, and google. They are personal preference in the content, but mostly follow a similar pattern to what comes first, later, etc. If you're interested, here is my load order, not necessarily install order - but this is how it's running at the moment. Fairly stable. Occasional (~1 per 30 gameplay sessions) crashes, but that's modding any game) Spoiler # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. Guest Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 The mods you have listed should be compatible. Most LL mods do different things, and there aren't that many mods with incompatibilities. You should be fine as long as you don't remove any script mods in the middle of your play through, and if you do, make a clean save and remove the orphaned scripts with SaveTool. I can recommend Mod Organizer if you are getting close to 50+ mods, or you have many conflicting mods. Otherwise it's not worth getting into, since it can be overwhelming at first. These are the mods you should stay away from: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/dangerous_mods_masterlist
WCSC Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 Thank you for your replies and advice. I loaded everything and so far it nice and flowing with only one problem. Fifoo Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 If I can afford to give you a few tips: Personally I use an older version of MO to manage mods because the MO2 version still has some bugs for now. It is a very powerful tool, sometimes complex, but essential to optimize your Skyrim installation. Have you cleaned the Bethesda ESMs with TES5Edit? I think so, but it is better to be sure. And I'll opt for optimized textures instead of the Bethesda high-resolution texture packs that you have installed in your configuration because more memory (both RAM and VRAM) is required to render these 'bloated' textures, which in turn costs valuable resources and hampers performance. These gave me complete satisfaction, despite a hardware configuration now considered as medium according to current standards but fully optimized (OCed CPU and GPU, Win7 optimized with unnecessary services disabled):High Definition Base Game Textures for Everyone (Part 1_2).7z and High Definition DLC for ModOrganizer Users (Part 2_2 - Extract Me).7z Here's a video in English as a tutorial for easier installation with MO: Taylem Mods - Ep. 03 - ESM Cleaning and Texture Optimization. If you are using MO, place the files in the following order in the left pane: Optimized Vanilla Textures - HD Unmanaged: Dawnguard.esm Optimized Dawnguard Textures - HD Unmanaged: HearthFires.esm Optimized HearthFires Textures - HD Unmanaged: Dragonborn.esm Optimized Dragonborn Textures - HD Skyrim Cleaned ESM Files Skyrim Script Extender Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch Unofficial High Resolution Patch Your ESMs Your ESPs Also for MO: For Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s): Docs folder and Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.bsl For Unofficial High Resolution Patch Do not install the following file(s) and/or folder(s): Docs folder and Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp (Dummy ESP) and Unofficial High Resolution Patch.bsl This will overrides Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch. Sorry for the long post. Hope this helps you. --- Sources: http://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition
WCSC Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 Thanks, I'll have to try those Here's a quick vid of my issue with creatures right now IMG_6744.MOV @Fifoo on those unofficial patches, is it certain files that need to be pulled form the directories of just not installed all together?

See if you have set Vsync to always ON and set FPS not to exceed 60 in the 'Manage 3D Settings' section of your Graphic Card Control panel. The game physics go wild if not. On 10/01/2018 at 5:04 AM, WCSC said: @Fifoo on those unofficial patches, is it certain files that need to be pulled form the directories of just not installed all together? The manipulation you'll have to do is to deselect the files and/or directories we do not need for the installation of some mods in MO. This allows for a clearer installation, free of data that may be superfluous like text files for example - unless you want to see the installed mod's descriptions in MO, of course. I will not show you the whole process of installation and configuration of MO in order to stay in the topic, it will be much too long to detail them in this post. You will find in this link a whole series of playthroughs for your installation. Taylem Mods - Skyrim I will try to make it simple to answer your question. Here's how to proceed: Spoiler In order to install a mod in MO you'll have two ways to download it from its page: First one: either through the 'Mod Manager Download' method if the mod site allows it - the simplest way (Nexus, for example) and you'll have it in the 'Download' section (right panel of MO). Second one: either in 'Manual Download' - a method that allows a more advanced mod installation (LL, for example) and you will this time use the icon 'Install a new mod from an archive' (on top left of the left panel of MO ). This method is sometimes necessary for the installation of some mods, and is often preferred by most modders for its freedom of action. The two methods mentioned above are simultaneously used to install the optimized texture packs that we were talking about earlier. But don't worry, the links I provided you explain all the process. Now, let's come to the installation of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch itself: Download Unofficial Skyrim Patch (use the first method described above), Double click on the downloaded mod to install it (right panel of MO). A small window named 'Quick Installation' will appear, with the name of the mod. You will have four fields in front of you: 'Name', 'Manual Installation', 'Validate', and 'Cancel'. 'Name' is used to select the name of the mod, click on the small arrow to the right of the field to scroll down a list of names and choose the one that suits you, you can even rename your mod if necessary.'Manual Installation' click on this field to proceed to the installation of the mod, it is the one which interests us - a new window will appear with the tree of the directories and/or files of the mod and you will have then the choice to validate or not those files, by selecting them or not - useful for removing unnecessary files or for performing more advanced mod editing operations.'Validate' is a field that does not allow manual selection, but rather useful for the installation of Fomods, for example.'Cancel' simply allows you to abandon the installation of the mod. Here is in detail this new window that appeared, called 'Install the mods', it looks like this: A field 'New mod' including the name of the mod, there you will also find a drop-down field which will allow you to choose/rename the mod, A 'Content' field where you have the tree of directories and/or files present in the mod as a list, with selection boxes checked in front of the names of each directory and/or file: - <data> - [] Docs [] Unofficial Skyrim Patch.bsa [] Unofficial Skyrim Patch.bsl [] Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp [] Unofficial Skyrim Patch.ini Uncheck those that are not necessary for MO, namely Docs folder and Unofficial Skyrim Patch.bsl and leave checked those that are. There is one last very important field at the bottom of the window, with the mention 'Looks Good' written in green if everything is ok for the installation. Click on 'Validate' and you have your mod which will appear in the main left panel of MO. Final steps: move your newly installed mod in the main left panel of MO, if necessary, this will change the loading order. And finally activate your mod by checking it. If you need to change the loading order again, uncheck your mod first, move it to the right place and then ckeck it again. Run Loot when needed and done: your mod is installed. Don't forget this: for your mods to be properly installed in MO, it is imperative to have this mention 'Looks Good' displayed. And now, you just have to do these manipulations for Unofficial High Resolution Patch, by unchecking Docs folder, Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp (Dummy ESP) and Unofficial High Resolution Patch.bsl And finally install the mods that you wish.
