NPCs always alerted

Hello everyone, I recently re-downloaded oblivion and decked it out with some new mods. but while everything ran pretty much without major hiccups, there's a problem that's been bothering me from the start. Whenever an NPC gets out of combat he will no longer go back to a quiet state: he will keep his fists raised/weapons unsheathed. Now this isn't game breaking in the slightest, but it is really annoying, and I'd love if someone could shed some light into this problem. The only way I found to "fix" this is by disabling and re-enabling the NPC, but it's only temporary and the problem will present itself after the next fight.

And the load order is not the best.

 

And you know: NO LOVERS MODS (esp/esm) IN YOUR BASHED PATCH ! NEVER.

You were right, I removed it and the problem went away. It's a shame, I kinda liked the new effects but I can live without 'em.

I used LOOT, and I did notice that certain mods had weird positional changes in-between sessions without even a masterlist update, guess I'll just use BOSS then. Thanks for the guide, I'm checking it out!

Often, we just use the list BOSS puts out as a suggestion guide...and hand sort everything. Once you go down the moddin' rabbit-hole, all bets re: load order go astray...

 

The reasons for this are many...but for example...I keep an esp right at the bottom of my load order that just patches AI-pathing that all the other mods screw-up. AI-Pathing is THE most sensitive item in term of the load order, I've found. If you ever see NPCs walking into walls etc....you know a fix is due.

 

In the Console (the ~ key), if you type tpg then hit enter, it toggles the AI path grid if you suspect there's an issue.

 

Another is mismatched terrain...if you ever see sharp lines on the ground...mud to grass for example...some mod has screwed that up. Another esp near the bottom handles all those fixes.

 

You get the idea...
