Why is it that some clothes do this to the skin?

I think this happens whenever your body mod (which seems to be CBBE) is not compatible with the actual armor mod.

Thats what i was thinking also but its the CBBE version. I have a few CBBE mods doing it.

Military Mommy requires the Jane Bod body, it is not compatible, out of the box, with CBBE bodies/textures.  To use Military Mommy assets with CBBE, you'd have to find a conversion, or convert it yourself.  Looks like Nexus user SBx82 has converted Military Mommy and Casual Tramp, both from Nightasy in this mod.

 

Here is what the various textures look like on different bodies. (below).  You say this is happening for a few of your mods?  Ensure that either they are in fact CBBE mods, or that you have also downloaded the corresponding conversion meshes and bodyslide files to go with (if they exist).  Most mods these days have conversions between CBBE, JB, and Atomic Beauty.
