Do you think that the next TES VI game or Fallout 5 will have photogrammetry so we can create ultra-realistic characters out of actual photographs of people?

TES VI will most likly be skyrim super special edition. XD

jokes aside though... maybe..? the thing with bethesthda rpg games is that they are running on a somewhat obsolete engine... the more new "features" they add, the more the game breaks. they 'might' do it, but i doubt that.

Considering how little it has been used in games and how much resources it could possibly take on top of all of the other challenges of making an open-world game. I don't think Bethesda would do it.

Bethesda don't even have a proper reflection in their games, in fo4 they manage to create something close to PBR material, but still have a long way to go.

Could be :)

Is physically based rendering, to resume the concept is very simple, in skyrim for example you have a black and white specular map, in fo4 you have a glossness and metalness map each one in one color, when you go to unreal engine or any other modern engine you have a lot of channels, this because there is no specular map in the real world, reflection is created by the world in the object, so you need reflection maps, specular is a way to fake light reflection a low processing cost.
