Nonsense667 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 So yeah, updated my phone from my old Samsung Reclaim to an LG Viper. I have to admit, I am loving it far more than I thought I would. Definitely loving the whole "you can use the internet on your phone" thing. But another thing I have to admit, I have absolutely no idea what I am doing with it. Anyone have any suggestions? Be they useful or merely entertaining. Good apps to download, ways to organize, tips for hidden features, whatever. Do I need to have some sort of antivirus or something like that similar to on a computer? Â And a more specific request. The texts on my phone are shown as just one block after another. Admittedly, this is miles ahead of just viewing one individual text after another like on my old phone, but I would kind of like to have the bubble style texting, with one person on the left, and one person on the right, rather than both starting on the same side, with only a slightly different color background contrasting between the two. Any way to change this up? Â Edit: Oh yeah, one specific thing. I can't seem to find a simple "notepad" feature. Is it hidden somewhere, or is there an app for that? Â Edit 2: It's an Android, for the record. Â Edit 3: Also, any specific tips for browsing the net? Just use the default browser? Can you download others? Is there a history I can access? And is putting in my passwords and stuff for sites like Loverslab perfectly fine and safe?
Jerbsinator Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm guessing you got an Android phone, which would mean that yes there is an app for pretty much anything you can think of. I would recommend the Go Launcher EX and most of their other apps, really fantastic and really nice widgets. You should also get a micro SD card, they are really useful and allow you to download ringtones, wallpapers, etc.
Dreamer102 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Hoping to dump my "Wackberry" and get a real smartphone one day soon.
RandomOne Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Now all you need to do is root it and install wifi tether to use your notebook anywhere.
GrimReaperCalls Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I reject this sorcery called "Smart Phones"! Although I can't seem to keep my hands of them if I spot one lying on a table... childish curiosity is a bitch...
thesapien Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Yeah, no cell phone for me right now. Someone might try calling me! But when I see one of those neat gadgets, I'm like "Pretty!" and want to touch and play with it. I just know they quickly get old to me while the price tag and monthly bills never get old.
