Edit or Modify replacer body in BodySlide?

A noob question for which "No" is a perfectly reasonable answer.  There are numerous replacer mods that simply require that you overwrite the femalebody_ meshes with another femalebody_ mesh of like type. But is it possible to modify the femalebody_0 & femalebody_1 meshes provided by those mods in BodySlide? (FYI - I am using Mod Organizer and thus use its file structure). Experimentation and research so far indicate it isn't possible without introducing another mod .

If your body is CBBE or UUNP based - you can modify it into BS easily.

Just rename you body to CalienteBodyHDT or UUNPHDT and place it into BodySlide\ShapeData\CalienteBody or BodySlide\ShapeData\Unified UNP folder (just don't forget to make a backup before).

And after this instead of "dummy"-body that goes with BS by default you can start to modify your body.

But adjust armors like this is not possible, because armors goes with "dummy" body inside, and you can't cut it from them.

This looks like the answer. Very exciting.  I just tried it but the body type I tested was too similar to my own to really confirm and, of course, having the same texture. I'm going to try a dramatically different body now.  One question though, I assume I am replacing the CalienteBodyHDT with femalebody_1.nif (ignoring the _0.nif yes?).  My question is once modified and "Built" in Body Slide, will I be transferring the CalienteBodyHDT to the npc replacer file, renaming in duplicate as both femalebody_0.nif and femalebody_1.nif?

Depends of which body and how you wish to customize.

If you wish to use your _1 body as "dummy" body and make your _0 at this base - you can use only your _1 variant.

But if you wish to customize _0 separatelly, you should replace "dummy" with _0 body, make your changes, "built" it, and then use new _1 file as your _0 file (or you can catch "neck seam" bug, because BS have "hidden" neck slider, which make changes in all _0 body variants by default).

When you click on "built" button (better with holding ctrl) - BS make two body in BS main folder, _1 and _0 using your "dummy" body and slider settings. You can use them for you PC or NPC.

P.s. sorry, my english is terrible, and I hope you can understand what I trying to tell =)

Your English is very good. I understand you perfectly. But I am inexperienced with BodySlide so that will no doubt present more of a challenge for you. Thank you for taking the time to assist. The NPC replacer files have 2 femalebody files as noted, _0 and _1.  You mention "dummy" and "base" files. I don't know what those mean, sorry, so I don't have any preference. I am trying to modify the bodies of a replacement npc in bodyslide and return them to the very same replacement npc. Simply that.  I do not know what _0 and _1 represent so am not certain which to  replace in bodyslide as the CalienteBodyHDT.

However, I do understand now, thanks to your comment, that BodySlide will create the two files necessary to place in the NPC replacer subdirectory.

Ah. I thought that was what they (_0 and _1) meant. If I replace the  CalienteBodyHDT.nif  with one or the other, is it not receiving only half the information? Either the high or the low?

P.S. I know this particular character is a 100 so will use the _1 file but wonder about the mid range.

BodySlide have two sliders sets - for 0 and 100 weight (0 on left part, 100 on right part).

So if you replace CalienteBodyHDT.nif with your _1 file - you can make your new _0 file with sliders on left part.

But if you replace CalienteBodyHDT.nif with your _0 file and try to make your new files from it - you will get bodies with noticable neck seams, because CalienteBodyHDT.nif is an actually _1 file.

_0 and _1 have differences in "seams" areas (neck, hands and feets).

You can try to open OutfitStudio (part of BodySlide) load both your bodies, and compare them.

Oh shoot. It isn't working...I don't think, MAYBE. The body generated by BS when clicking "BUILD" with the cmd key (Confirmed with a prompt of "success") is located in BS  & Outfit\meshes\actors\character\character assets\, correct? This is my player body location right? There are other reasons for why it isn't showing up which I will  check, but I just need confirmation that these are the files generated by BodySlide. If you have the time, I would appreciate it.
