Game Breaking Bug Discovered! (Fixed)

Do NOT delete households after the November 7th patch. The household management has a new limit for Sim population in game you can set before non household Sims are deleted. If you delete any Sims yourself you will get a game breaking error that will hinder your ability to play the game. The only workaround is to use the save recovery in the load game option and hope you can go back.

 

 

Edit: They have fixed things finally. Any saves affected are doomed but new games should be fine.

I can second this as I've seen it too so be careful people who've upgraded.

It might help to be a little more specific. Does the error happen before, or after you change the household limit? And does it matter which size you choose? I've been set to unlimited from the start, and have deleted dozens of sims and haven't had a problem. These were sims that were unprotected. I haven't deleted a protected family yet.

I found a thread on EA support. Reading through much of it, seems like adding pets to a household may cause the issue. I'll leave the support link. Please confirm if this is what you're referring to.

Seen the bug affect only the households with relatiosiphps.  One of first thing i do when i load cat and dog dlc was delete the gay couple but like i never play it before dont had any relatioship whith any other sim. Well that is my guess because i dont had any broken game bug aleast until now aleast any mod o cc related.

I haven't experienced it yet either, but then I don't want pets in my house. Perhaps that's why I haven't had a problem? Not sure, but lots of people apparently have, and are pretty furious about this bug. Ironically, it was Pets that royally screwed up Sims 3.

I hope it'll get fixed soon. I really like customizing my world by adding new cool sims and removing less interesting ones.

What is point doing this to us, jeez makes me wonder does that mean we have save our saves or delete everything we try accomplish. There another strange bug that also occurs if you don't have proper updated game version you get stuck in endless update mode. you have delete all current data in Sims 4 file even that bothers me that made me feel to, save the saves, tray and mod folder something funky was happening while playing.

My way fixed the crazy issue I had it wasn't to up to date, you know 102 in middle of that update number I had 99 I was like what?? so if anyone has that number in update version you best do what I did do risky way of life is probably self remove your saves, tray and mods, place somewhere say goodbye to sims 4 folder in Document folder not program area? it saves time practice but origin has to go reinstall some crucial data that was lost I was like what the? what data did they lose maybe they forgot install it?

 

Whoever makes simsvip keep making those updates you save some those who frayed hairs.

Ok  So now 11-18-2017 Can I get rid of the households now? I have a legal version all SPs and EPs all updated and patched.

I replace them usually with my versions. They are all in the bin still in my game but they are moved out.

 

I am in the process of finding out more about this since I started a new save file.

I'd rather not have pets, to be honest, I'd prefer just WW to work without problems, I can understand those who want pets, but we should have a choice.I disabled auto update in my origin menu but it still forced the new update on my game. I really feel bad for the modders who worked so hard.
