Trouble with HDT bounce and Bijin Mods

Recently installed Legacy Edition. Reinstalled all the Bijins. Replaced the female_bodies in the respective folders with my own characters CBBE HDT, as done previously in Vanilla, and now they don't work. I have changed nothing otherwise. Can someone please help? I'm at a loss.

Could you please elaborate a little more? I really need a bit more information that that. Especially when it comes to visual mods like HDT and Bijin a picture is worth a thousand words.

Long story short: I can not use my own player body on Bijin mods and get the HDT effect.

 

Current update: all is working now. BUT. And this is what is difficult to understand and explain. For me at least. So step-by-step okay?  The HDT works on my own player and on all non-Bijin players. After installing Bijins three mods, which are beautiful and load fine, I replaced the female_body parts in the sub-directory of each mod (Wifes, NPCS & Warnaidens), as per the site instructions, with my player body. This had worked for me in the past but WAS not working when I posted this notice ( I had made some changes which required me to reinstall Bijin). After posting this, I downloaded and installed Bijin's customizers for each and they work fine. But of course these are Bijin's female_body meshes and not the one I prefer to use on my characters. But I can live with it. Still a mystery though.

Oh, I get it now. Basically HDT is not working when you use your own body mesh on the Bijin ladies.

If this is your problem then the solution would be to "recreate" "redo" "rebuild" your own body mesh in Bodyslide & Outfit Studio making sure that you have CBBE Body HDT selected or UNP Body HDT selected (depending on whichever body you use) and then after you rebuild it try replacing the body meshes again on the Bijin babes.

I don't think those .tri files are necessary because I've done the same to my Bijin mods and none of them have .tri files.  However, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to put them in if you're concerned about it.

The tri files are absolutely necessary.

Tri files are for sliders and the path to the tri file is assigned by bodyslide, so moving them would just break the sliders in racemenu, there is no reason to move them or edit the directory.

 

The old trick to getting hdt working on custom npc mods that use their own head mesh was to add the path to the hdt xml files in the head mesh, as long as the body mesh had the bones and the skeleton path was correct for a working hdt skeleton.

Just adding these as extrastringdata txt.

Humm. That's odd. Because with all my Bijin mods ( NPCs, Seranaholic, Warmaidens, and Wives ), Ordinary Woman, and any follower who wasn't HDT out of the box ( including those I converted from UNP/UNPbased bodies where I also had to replace textures ) I simply copied the femalehands 01 and 02 nifs from CBBE, then the femalebody/feet 01 and 02 nifs and the femalebody.tri and femalefeet.tri files from Bodyslide and pasted them into their meshes folder. And they all work flawlessly with HDT in my game.

 

No nifscope required.

 

Edit: I just reread this and realized how snarky it sounds. I didn't intend it that way so please don't read it as such. Sadly, txt can't convey tone ;/

Yes, most of the time it should work if you have a body mesh with the needed hdt bones.  My guess is some npc creators don't package an hdt body because it would add more requirements to the mod, however there are some npc mods that use their own skeleton and head mesh that can prevent a simple mesh swap from working.
