HDT stretching fix?

I haven't installed Skyrim for quite a while and I'm doing so because Someguy2000 started modding again. I remember back in the day when I used HTD I had a frequent ugly glitch where HDT enabled nps would stretch to infinity and then return to normal when they transitioned cells. Has there ever been a fix for this or is it still a problem?

i have that weird and annoying bug too
but for me when the hair stretches the NPC dissapear and only get back to the normal if i desable-enable her/him

Try the method outlined here:  http://www.loverslab.com/topic/34345-breasts-stretch-really-far-then-said-npc-sometimes-goes-invisible/?p=1621615 .  I used this and found that it not only reduced (to nearly non-existent) the "forever stretch", but also seem to the reduce the butt/breast spasms I would get with hdt bodies.
