morgananinuala Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 It may have something to do with the fact that you have 218 mods installed jesus fucking christ cut your load order down to something sane like 50 or so then get back to us holy shit you're lucky your PC isn't catching fire ESPECIALLY with all those Sexlab plugins. Like, you must have a million fucking scripts assfucking your computer all at once.
Guest Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I asked for help troubleshooting, not your bitching about my mods. Also, 200 mods is comparatively nothing, I used to run 350 stable. Also, I've good reason to believe the issues are either memory or HDT related, just by parsing the error log. Now, are you going to be useful and offer aid or whine about how many mods I'm using? If I'd wanted criticism, I'd have posted elsewhere.

With that many mods though it could actually be your issue: 1.) You're hitting a memory limit. SOLUTION: -Windows 10 has a update coming that is currently in beta that increases dx9 memory -Windows 7 doesn't have this issue. -To take advantage of extra memory you need to use an ENB and set AutoDetectMemory=true -Make sure you have enough Ram+Vram adding more... FINISHED! Until response Do you use mod organizer? Obligatory my personal copypasta.. But for starters do you have any of these? 0.) SKSE (This has to be said trust me) 1.) ENB (you can turn off visual effects) 2.) Crash Fixes (READ THE DESCRIPTION AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS Under how to install memory allocation patch) 3.) Load Game CTD Fix (Its a plugin not a mod fixes crashes when starting up an old game) This is almost general knowledge if you don't have these you're going to have a bad time. a papyrus log is more useful.

Guest Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I have had issues with Skyrim.ini / Skyrimprefs.ini causing crashes etc I am going to go ahead and give you mine you can use it if you want or just test it to see if it makes any difference, I tried to make it medium to low end. it doesn't have any nasty edits. skyrim.txt skyrimprefs.txt have to rename them .ini because you can't upload otherwise also change graphics card Do you use mod organizer btw if you do can you give me the modlist? also i would cap your FPS at 60 otherwise things can get screwy, actually you can cap it at 80 without issue your ENB has this feature.

Make sure "Data/SKSE/SKSE.ini" has DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 or higher under [Memory]. If using Mod Organizer try adding -forcesteamloader to SKSE startup options. You can diable this warning from "Data/SKSE/Plugins/CrashFixPlugin.ini" by setting "WarnSKSEMemoryPatch" to 0. Read http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? Data/SKSE/SKSE.ini (not needed if UseOSAllocators=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini): Set DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB:Memory to 768. If you are using a lot of mods or higher uGrid than 5 then set 1024. Helps with CTD during save load, especially if you can load the save after qasmoke. Max value is 1280. If you are using ENB you may get CTD on startup with higher value than 768 and ExpandSystemMemoryX64 true in enblocal.ini! Set ScrapHeapSizeMB:Memory to 256. Game can't use more than 256 of this and setting higher serves no purpose. Most important to read How to use the memory allocator patch?1. Open CrashFixPlugin.ini and find "UseOSAllocators=0"2. Change it to "UseOSAllocators=1"3. Download and install SKSE Plugin Preloader4. Start game, if you get an error saying that memory patch could not be applied read the message for help, otherwise you're good to go.(5.) Causes game to crash and you use ENB? Set ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false in enblocal.ini(6.) Causes game to crash more frequently (especially with UNP RaceMenu sliders)? Try AlignHeapAllocate=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini

Guest Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Thankfully I'm not running an elf character so the true eyes thing isn't an issue for me haha. After using your (slightly modified for resolution and GPU) .ini files the game ran for nearly triple as long before I encountered a crash, and that was only when quicksaving. If this issue is limited to quicksaves I can live with that. I'll test again to see how long it runs, it's possible the lowered draw distance was a major factor. Also, no, I'm not using the Mod Organizer. FPS has also been capped since I set Vsync to true in the .ini files. Turns out UseOSAllocators was somehow disabled by default, I'm embarrassed I missed that. I'll give it another shot with that enabled, for all I know it could have just solved my problem.

I know its annoying but its the safest way. I still have the original true eyes file at least it just sucks he had to pull his mods because the eyes are amazing.

This time going through a door (The Riften tavern to be precise) caused the crash. I'm going to go check if I can diagnose that issue, it doesn't seem to be the same random ctd as before. Could be mistaken though. Also, I agree, True Eyes is amazing. Probably one of, if not the, best eye mod out there.
Guest Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I will leave it up too you with trial and error but remember its a good idea to start a new save to see if the problem is persistent and that it isn't just a broken save. Know that bad textures and meshes can cause crashes too, unfortunately you don't have Mod Organizer so testing certain mods is going to be 100 times harder for you.

Guest Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 So I got it running, played a bit, then went to bed. I come back in the morning and try to run it, and suddenly nothing works. First CTD on startup, then I learned my quicksave somehow completely vanished and my saves cause an instant CTD the moment I press load. After that, new game gives me a black screen with audio. I think I'm going to abandon the game again. I don't have the patience to put up with this shit.
