Supertin Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Hey, question is in the title. Generally hdt just uses a chain of bones and rigid bodies that are connected to one of the bones of skyrim skeleton. (For example for hdt hair the bones and rigid bodies are connected to the head node from the parent bone of the hdt bone chain. Now I'm trying to basically do the same thing the Zaz ankle chains and some of heretics chains do. For example the chain connects on both sides to the ankles. I've been studying the nif files that do this and I figured out they have 2 hdt bone chains that are connected from the ankle along the actual chain and meet in the middle. So far so good. But then comes the part I'm kind of stuck at. How do I connect these two seperate pieces in the middle? I thought I can maybe just create a 3rd bone "chain" with only one bone and rigid body and connect that one to the two bone chains as a sort of connector... But I think the way hierarchies work stops this from functioning. The "connector" would be child of both chains, but I think it can only be child of one or the other? Maybe Im just missing something simple here? Appreciate any help! In case there's different ways of doing this, Im currently trying to do this in 3ds max.
