How do I even begin to get out of these devious devices? And also, I'm not suppose to get whipped to death in the Prison Overhaul mod, am I?  The crowd beat on me until I died!!  Good grief.....

Which devious mods do you have? If you have Integration, Assets, & Expansion, you'd have to craft the keys yourself to them with a forge. If you have Framework, it comes with a function to remove all devices & furniture off you called the Safe Word in case of emergency (only use if its serious though). Some other mods let blacksmiths, court wizards, or other special NPCs remove them for gold. You could also try the console command unequipall on yourself but I would not recommend it as can result in issues since the devious mods don't pick up very well on gear being removed with the console.

Thnx for responding. I have DD Equip,Assets,Integration, & Expansion. Also have Sex Lab Framework & Simple Slavery with DD Framework. But I don't see what I need to craft keys nor do I see this Safe Word?  Also, r u talking about having to pick up Uraq's forbidden book? I haven't picked it up yet as my Lvl is still abit low.

For Integration & the others, you only see the recipes for the devious gear & keys in forges by reading a book in a locked bookshelf in the Arcaneum of the College of Winterhold (the key is on Urag's desk). Read the book titled "Devious Devices", it may start a long ass quest called Forbidden Tomes when you do, for some reason it only triggered the 2nd time I read it instead of the first (it involves getting a chastity belt stuck on you), so I would not advance that quest at all until you're ready to do so. After reading the book all the recipes for gear like bras, gags, collars, etc will be available in the forge as well as the keys needed to remove them. The keys are under the section of items that Hearthfire introduces like locks & nails (if you have the Destroy Key setting in Integration's General section active, you'll need more than 1 key for each device equipped).

 

As for Framework's Safe Word, it'll be in the Debug section of its MCM menu on the bottom right. It'll clear most devices off you (collars, gags, yokes, cuffs, restrictive boots, etc.) but you'll have to use it again if more are placed on you later & you're unable to find another way to remove them. Also if you use SL Kidnapped Redux, know that the keys, console commands & Safe Word will NEVER remove the devices properly until the Revenge quest ends (its either a bug or how Vinfamy intended it to be, not sure).

 

Framework is a separate mod from other DD mods & slavery mods that use DD gear like Simple Slavery, etc. so the Safe Word is basically an immersion breaker in terms of how the mod that put devices on you intended them to be removed. I'd suggest going over what mods you have that use DD gear in their pages in order to see what steps & mechanics the authors meant for them to removed normally (example: Maria Eden lets you ask blacksmiths & court wizards to remove them for gold but it also make's it impossible to talk to anyone if you're gagged which impedes that mechanic). But like I said, sometimes shit happens & the gear might screw stuff up for you if you're unlucky so if that happens, the Safe Word is there for those moments.

I think I understand. I now am released from Prison but still have a shackle set on me. I can't swing a blade.How to proceed now?

The Safe Word won't free you from all devices like the Corset for example. If that's the case try crafting keys for it at a forge. If the keys don't work for some reason, try the console command "player.unequipall" & play as you normally would for a while to make sure using the command didn't screw anything up (I'd make a save beforehand)

I crafted a restraint key. How do I use it? I hit E but nothing happened. I tried left/right clicking on it...nothing. I tried left/right clicking on the shackles...nothing. I tried console using player.remove item (with the bad editor #'s)...script not saved. I've tried everything I've read up on.  Afraid to use unequipall because Uraq has put belt & pligs on me.But I can't go get those books if I can't fight. I am almost Lvl 20 (which is about where i was when I had to go all way back to Lvl 8 to find a Save that wasn't messed up. I still haven't been able to find Safe Word but I have seen several Debug Options in the mods I have installed. I honestly don't know what to do.

When you have a key in your inventory, you should get more options when trying to equip/unequip a device in your inventory.

I have a restraint key and a chastity key in my inventory. When i click on the shackle set, it says you cannot unequip this item.

Which mod did add the shackles? I guess it's from the prison mod? Since you also mentioned you're beaten to death, that shouldn't happen. It did in earlier versions, do you have the patch installed? If no... expect problems. If yes, it might be a bug of a new version. (both shackles and death)

The restraint is POP Inox Shackle Set. I did see where if jailer dies---restraints cannot be taken off. But I've seen nothing about player can't. I thought about that death too. Even had several NPC's say...."I thought you were dead".  I did installed the Overhaul after this started happening. Probably too late though. What if I went back to Solitude where the shackles were put on---get re-arrested---would they take them off if I behave?  I might as well try going back to Lvl 8 or mayb even Lvl 6 and start from there. If there r any negative carryovers,, I'll just create another character and profile & start all over. Ty kindly for helping me out along the way.
