Kyronhi Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 After installing several mods from the Nexus, I found that my game seemed to crash on startup. I've tried multiple things to solve it, but nothing worked, and unfortunately I do not have the knowledge to read the crash logs properly, so I can't use that, not by myself. I've attached it, but I do have quite a few mods, so there's a fair amount to read :/ starbound.log
HeckinT Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 It looks like one of the steam workshop mods you downloaded is causing the crash (bad patching file). Navigate to whatever mod is in this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820\888643428\contents.pak. and see if you can determine which mod this is and disable it. If possible, let the mod creator know so that he/she can fix it.

From what I can tell, though, it was a mod I installed on the 6th, so I'll check Steam for the mods I installed that day. Again, thank you ^-^

I tried reinstalling or reducing number of mods, but it didn't work. How can i do? From what I learned about starbound, every time they update they're game alot of mods that worked before stop working until they get updated. I suggest adding one mod at a time to see which mod causing the problem. I had the jedi forge mod and it worked fine but after the newest update it crashes the game now. I've added from the steam mods but it makes no difference if its installed manually or through steam. Loxodon is the only person working on mods actively as far I know check it out. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/82177-starbound-sexbound-api/
HeckinT Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Check your starbound.log (under Starbound/storage) It will tell you exactly what errors it is getting that is causing the game to crash.
agmoyer Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 I would suggest doing what I did, install one or two mods and then launch the game, create a new character, and go in and try them out... Then go and get more. Trial and Error. From what I was reading I think one of the mods has a typo, another failed to patch, and one had a projectile error, and finally an error with a .pak file. I use to create mods for the game and had similar if not exact problems.
