Dilios300 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 OK, I have tried just about ever single, solitary trick for this and I am absolutely, completely, and irrevocably stuck! I am at the part of the CW questline were Galmar rewards you for completing the quest "A False Front". Once I return to him and collect my reward, he doesn't have the "reporting in" dialogue option. So far, I have tried : -- Reloading the save -- Going into an interior and waiting 4-5 days in-game -- Getting Galmar on 1 knee and talking to him -- Unrelenting Force-ing him -- Aggro-ing him then paying the bounty in Windhelm -- Messing with his race several times -- Reloading many previous saves -- Using these console commands : setstage CWFortSiegeFort 0/10/200/500/9999 / setstage CWMission03 200 / completequest CWFortSiegeFort / resetai (with Galmar selected) / resetquest CWFortSiegeFort / setobjectivecompleted CWFortSiegeFort 0/10/9999 1 I have tried combining all of the above techniques in seemingly infinite ways and yet I still have failed to fix this. I had completed the quest "Season Unending" by giving the Imperials Riften, and Markarth to the Stormcloaks before making Whiterun Stormcloak territory. I also have had consistent problems with the same dialogue option throughout the questline. Once I captured a Hold (Whiterun/Falkreath/ and Markarth) their respective Jarl's were not replaced with the new ones. If there is any additional information you need, let me know.
yatol Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 stack dump during the quest some stuff wasn't done right civil war broken
y_sengaku Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Have you tried probably the most well-known way, i.e. fast travel somewhere around and speak to him again? BTW, CW quest line is certainly the worst stable one in vanilla, so if you have more than one of such mods that 'tweak' Civil War (in addition to unofficial patch), the conflict between them can cause problem. [Edited]: Wait, I remember one particular problem on the CW quest for Hjaalmarch. Check out the status of Fort Snowhawk (i.e. who actually occupy the fort), and if necromancers (original, i.e. non-civil war inhabitants of the fort) still live in the fort, clear them all out and replace the inhabitants with the Imperial soldiers. Sometimes the necromancers re-occupy the fort instead of imperials (those who supposedly occupy the fort during the CW quest and function as a prerequisite for the siege), and their presence can hinder the normal progress of the CW quest. It may be so annoying that you have to 'give' the fort to your enemies once......
Dilios300 Posted August 14, 2017 Author Posted August 14, 2017 @y_sengaku I have tried "the most well known way" more times than I'd like to count As for the necromancer thing, I'll give it a try asap and tell you if it works. First time in a week I've been hopeful. @yatol What are you talking about? Are you drunk, or do you just not speak English?
yatol Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 @yatol What are you talking about? Are you drunk, or do you just not speak English? ... as if hitting the npc or waiting is supposed to do anything type that quest in google, go to a wiki, one have some console commands to start the next quest using those console command you don't have the dialog to start the next quest, because some global value weren't updated while you were doing that quest because you had stack dump during that siege, or because you died reloading a save can be the same troubles as stack dumps go to a crypt, save before waking up a draugr, wake him up, load the save, try to wake up again the draugr it won't wake up, because game load the script from the ram, that have already done that
Dilios300 Posted August 14, 2017 Author Posted August 14, 2017 Incorrect. Hitting an NPC enough will change their ai to be aggressive. That much everyone knows. I have already tried all the console commands with NO success. NOTHING happens. Draugr? You still aren't making sense. Are you translating your message through Google Translate? That would explain why a lifelong English speaker is having trouble understanding you. Google is horrible for that sort of thing, you know.

Dilios300 Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 OK, I had to try and complete the CW questline on a new character to see if it was a particular mod that was causing my problems. And what do you know, it was the mod. "For the Stormcloaks" *was* the cause of all of my CW problems. I will test this on my main save tomorrow and see how it goes.

And what do you know, it was the mod. "For the Stormcloaks" *was* the cause of all of my CW problems. I will test this on my main save tomorrow and see how it goes. Oh, I also had the problem with that mod: For my case, I had little problem for the battle for Hjaalmarch with the mod installed, but the quest line was stopped just before the final battle for Solitude (if I remember correctly), and Galmar kept stating that 'awaiting from the message from Whiterun/ Balgruuf' then. I had not explored to identify the exact problem further (conflict or the problem of the single mod), and just dropped that mod from my load order since then.
Dilios300 Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 @y_sengaku Yeah, I did that last night. And you wouldn't believe what happend today..... I have good news and bad news: Good news is that I fixed the problem I was having and am at the part in the questline just before you attack Fort Hraggstad. I also, over the course of this 3 week long ordeal, have picked up quite a lot of tricks to fix this and have written them all down, just in case. And I can't thank you enough for the advice you gave me (kill the necromancers). Bad news is that it happened again. Galmar refuses to tell me to attack the last fort before Solitude. However, based on what I've read, this seems to be a fairly common thing. And on top of that, I already have a great deal of things I can do to try and fix it. So it's mostly good news. So.... same procedure? Or is there something different I've gotta do?
y_sengaku Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I'm glad the trick (killing necromancers) I mentioned above also worked for you! I could not find a way of proceeding further after the siege on the Fort Hraggstad, but I hope you can find the way and proceed somehow to the final stage of your tweaked CW quest line.
Dilios300 Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 Are you still stuck on that part of the questline? If you are, then I'll post whatever I did to fix it. Maybe it'll help you out. Cheers!

It was a while ago (more than half a year) that I stuck, and then I gave up that mod and have re-arranged my load order almost completely. Anyway, thanks and congratulate your victory over the problem (as well as the CW quest line)! And also, after the CW quest end (for Stormcloak side), be sure to try Blood of the Nord. It's fairly well written quest mod.
Dilios300 Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 I haven't completed the CW on my main save yet. Remember.... I got the same problem again at the part where I'm supposed to attack the fort near Solitude. But thanks again for the help. Cheers!
