angelknight127 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 For awhile now my saves have become corrupted during play. I assumed it was a mod but I am unable to tell what mod it is using LOOT, additionally I have reinstalled skyrim on a new computer with new downloads of mods. However the corrupted saves are reappearing again, I am not sure how to track down the issues and deal with it so if anyone feeling nice enough to suggest something I would greatly appreciate it. The problem is as follows: -upon loading a save (that has been infected) the game will CTD -I will oad other saves before this one to make sure the problem is not just a random CTD -I will attempt to open it in save game cleaner and it will say the save is corrupted after that i have been trying trial and error with mods to see if removing ones i may have downloaded prior may have been the cause but with a clean install its just shooting blind.
Sladen2019 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Use these three mods if you are not already and use them from start to end when you make new games. Load Game CTD Fix http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85443/? Crash Fixes http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? Crash Fixes needs SKSE Plugin Preloader http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795/? In CrashFixPlugin.ini make sure to set UseOSAllocators=1 You can also use ENBoost for its memory fixes. With the above three mods, do not use SKSE Memory Fix/SSME/SafetyLoad/Continue Game No Crash as they are redundant and possibly counter productive.
bc733 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 My skyrim does this to. I've found that loading a save made right at the beginning of the game will work, then after that loads and I'm in game I can get any other save to load as well. Not very convenient, but it works.

I do this as well. I call them "Buffer Saves" Since I use alternate start mod when you save a game after making your character you're inside a small room and loading the game does not require as much memory or effort causing little chance to crash as if you were to load a game from the menu and be in the outside world would usually be too much to handle causing a CTD.
