Looking for a cheap good quality headset for PC through Amazon that's under $35. Getting tired of the hard drive's funky noises and the god awful CPU/GPU fans acting as if they're ready for take off on a airport runway. Wanna hear my games for once.

I've stopped trying - get a $100 headset, it breaks in 6 months. Get a $15 headset, it lasts for a year. I've gone through I think ?four? headsets in the last two years and I've just stopped caring about the vacuum cleaner masquerading as a computer.

Still, if you find one, let me know. :)

I have been around the block quite a few times. The $35 price tag seems a bit optimistic in terms of quality to me. I have ranged from $150 to $12, and I find the $60 to $100 price range to be a sweet spot. Absolute favorite is the HyperX cloud. I find the comfort and mic to be best in that class.

Razer Kraken - I dislike round earpieces, however these are decidedly nice. Mic is very good for the price, and they work well. Picked up for $30 on closeout in Walmart.

Logitech G430 - Features for price are near unbeatable. I did have an issue with inline audio control, so be warned. Tried these when they came out. Could be better or worse now.

If the $35 was a hard cap that I could not exceed, I would most likely roll the dice.

Logitech G230 - Should be close enough to the 430 to be a safe bet, however I have not personally tried these.

$26.99

Sades SA902 - Sounds a bit too good to be true. I expect cheap plastic, mediocre sound, and fairly short lifespan. Brand has a following for budget gaming, so maybe they aren't bad.

My favorite drug-store 19.99 headset has a wire or two busted, and besides I think "Headset" means you want a mike.

That rules out damp TP to plug up your ears.

So OK years ago I bought Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000, which has a mic.

It's uncomfortable, like your ears are being squeezed, and the heavy volume-controller gets caught on stuff,

But it was pretty cheap.

They don't sound as good as the 19.99 drugstore headphones ("Phillips", I think) so if you can live without a mic,

full-size headphones (not buds or dinky sponges) are nice.

I'm editing this to add a picture from Amazon. These look a little fancier than the ones from the drug store, and Amazon has a cheaper model, but these are the ones that look very much like the ones I have, but more dignified and pricey
