ENB doesn't work?

I've built a totally brand new rig, instead of windows 7, this time I chose to get windows 10(I don't know why, but I don't have the money now to try and "downgrade").

I still have my old data folder(loaded with over 200+ mods, SKSE etc and ENBseries files + ENB preset) I decided to run it for the first time after installing steam and installing skyrim and replacing my new skyrim folder with my old one.

When I loaded the game for the first time, everything seemed normal, however, when I tried loading an old save file, ENB effect wasn't on(despite having the typical ENB message in the top left corner), and the game was lagging out incredibly hard, so I tried making a brand new save game, and the same issue occured.

My next thought was to restart with a brand new skyrim folder and download mods from there, I loaded a new game with approximately 70 mods, SKSE and no ENB. The game was fine, running at great FPS but terribly ugly thanks to the lack of ENB.

The next thing I tries was just installing the ENBseries files. I loaded the game just fine and everything was normal, I could use shift+enter and the menu would pop up, however I didn't investigate anything more(like looking through all of the options).

I tried installing ENBseries files + preset onto this new skyrim folder, however the same issue rises, no ENB effect in game and terribly laggy despite the typical ENB message in the top left corner when the game starts up.

Another thing to mention is that the lagging issue + no ENB effect only occurs when i'm actually in game, there is no lag on the main menu, nor enb preset working on the menu.

Some other things I've tried:

- Installing Windows 10 64 bit driver.

- Installing Directx June 2010.

- Placing dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll into my skyrim folder(newest folder with 70 mods).

- Playing around in enbseries.ini.

- Playing around in SkyrimPrefs.ini, setting whatever requirements for what enb preset I tried using.

-Tried using different ENB presets(I've tried AnkoENB and Snapdragon Prime ENB).

- Deleting skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini, starting up skyrimlauncher.exe(loading new inis), and doing the skyrimprefs.ini adjustments for AnkoENB.

- Reset Windows 10.

Someone asked a similar question recently. I don't know if it'll work but it's better than nothing.

https://www.loverslab.com/topic/81065-problem-with-new-enb/

Unfortunately it didn't help, but thank you nonetheless. :)
Well... try this. Delete everything from your Skyrim installation folder EXCEPT for the Data folder. Maybe cut and paste them into different folder and save them just in case.

Using Steam, verify integrity of game files. (Right-click Skyrim, click local files, then verify integrity of game files).

Test your vanilla Skyrim game first.

Then reinstall an ENB and see if that works. 99% of ENBs require you make changes to SkyrimPrefs.ini so pay close attention to these steps.

Lastly, make sure you do not have climate mods, Color Correction mods, or ENB plugins installed in your load order. Yes, some ENBs do come with plugins. Anko ENB, for example.

So what happened was I loaded the game after deleting everything but the (modded) data folder and verifying the integrity of the game files, I had the bare minimum mods enabled necessary just to start a new game quick(alternate start, apachiihairs for no reason tbh, racemenu etc) without SKSE, it crashed first but that was to be expected(considering I was making a new game with racemenu without SKSE) so I installed skse and the game was normal. Then I installed ENBseries + AnkoENB without having the AnkoENB plugin enabled. The ENB effect actually turned on(but it was kinda weird, as the character was completely blurred out) and the frames were pretty normal(no lag) without access to the ENB menu in game or on the main menu, so I reloaded the game with Anko plugin, verdant grass plugin and watercolor for ENB enabled and it returned back to no ENB effect and incredible lag.

I also made the appropriate alterations to my skyrimprefs.ini(both in C:\Users\PC\Documents\My Games\Skyrim and D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Skyrim), however I'll just post my skyrimprefs.ini on the first post in case there is a fault with it.

Right, the Anko ENB plugin is required for some effects of Anko ENB to work properly.  I assume it's at the bottom of your load order, right?  Hell, what's your load order and what are your system specs?  Just curious.

So Anko ENB doesn't work with its plugin but even without the plugin it's not working properly either... lol.  Well, I'm at a lost here but I'll keep thinking about this and get back to you if I ever get a light bulb turned on.  By the way, what's AOM.esm?  Also, which version of ENBseries are you using?  Anko ENB specifically likes ver. 0.262 but I'm sure using the latest version would be just fine.

I'm using ENBseries version .315. I looked it up and AOM.esm is just The Art of Magicka. Thank you for the help at least. :') I've never seen these issues before with ENB and I can't imagine what is different from what others are doing.

I honestly don't know your issue but I saw you had rs children and if you're using xpmse then you also need this file for children skeletons or they will lag your game like no other http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62830/?

I'm pretty sure that's not the issue since without ENB installed the game is totally normal(no lag), but thank you nonetheless. :')

By any chance are u using any kind of OSD related program rivatuner msi afterburner etc.? If so then turn them off and it will work.

In your enblocal.ini, is your VideoMemorySizeMb set to 4064 ?

I believe this was the fix I needed! (I've restarted the game twice without any issues or hiccups)

However, the focus on the character is crud and I'm sure that it can be fixed with some tweaking but I'm not sure what.

I could be wrong, but perhaps a depth of field adjustment.

I decided to disable it for now until I can find out a proper depth of field fix, but I'll mark as solved for now.

Thank you for your help. :)
